Despite having our 25-day grace period, we still hadn't used it The year is We had used the old spa for about 7 years, but decided it was time to have a new one installed at the request of our granddaughter. Everything went well, but the water was an awful yellow despite using crystal clear water, chlorine, and spa shocks. A brown color. The water started looking terrible after an hour, so I drained the spa, refilled it, added a few ounces of Oh Yuk, and circulated it for an hour. The water looked terrible again, so I drained it again. I filled it up again. Despite the yellow tint of the water, it seemed just as clear as before. By substituting chlorine for Oh Yuk, I achieved the same result I was shocked at a spa incident. There hasn't been a hint of a problem in our spa since then. We were able to use our old tub for the first time in years within 24 hours of adding 16 ounces of Yuk. There is one downside. I still have essentially an entire gallon of Yuk left over, which I hope I never need to use.
A great product that cleaned out the hot tub lines easily. The dirtiest parts of my tub were cleared just by pouring the half of a large bottle around the sides of the tub, then turning on the jets for several hours. I wished I'd taken a picture, when I first used it, chunks of gunk came out of them. I have had my hot tub for three years now, and this was the first time I used it. When it's clean, the pump won't trip the circuit on startup like it used to and it didn't before. I rate this 10 out of 10.
I'm amazed at this stuff. It had a white tissue-like substance attached to the wood of our cedar hot tub, probably some kind of mold, but no expert could identify it with certainty. The fungus appeared to be growing in the filter, too, and looked like wet toilet paper clogging everything up. There's a gallon of this magical substance I poured in there and it immediately cleared up the odor. This is awesome!.
