This was purchased as a gift for our tech-savvy friend. A blok firepit is a firepit made of bloks. I didn't get the insert, and I could have probably gotten a cover from techo-. blok, but the installer asked if I wanted the accessories while he was installing, and I didn't think I needed anything else at the time. After all, it's only a firepit. br>br>All right, let's see what we've got. Because my wife was concerned about leaving burning embers in the firepit, I purchased a cover for it. This cover appears to be well made (I've had it for two weeks) and heavy enough to not blow away, and I'm pleased with my purchase overall. I simply believe the price is too high for what it is. After all, it does cover a firepit.
The screen began to buckle after the first use. Returning because it doesn't appear to be able to withstand more than a few fires before becoming frail. It's possible that it wasn't designed to withstand the intense heat generated by a good, thick-gauge fire pit. Out of the box, it's appealing and might be suitable for smaller fires. The screen is held in place by the frame.
We bought it because we couldn't burn in our neighborhood without a cover, and this was the only one in the right size. However, at this price, we may consider making something ourselves if this one sells out.
I would have given it five stars if I hadn't noticed after our first use that the handle flops over and lays down, making it difficult to move and/or lift off of the fire pit. Fortunately for me, the trash-collecting service was able to help me out. I was able to remove the old handle from the previous, worn-out handle while the man was still on his way. remove the cover from the firepit and re-use it.
The screen is held together by a very thin frame on this cover. When it was delivered, it was bent. The dented screening was popped out, but the frame remained bent, causing the device to sit unevenly on the fire pit top. br>It should be made of a more durable material for the price.
This should last about a year before I need to replace it. It's a flimsy piece of clothing.
This one is a little more expensive, but it has more reinforced ribs. The term "light weight" has been used in some reviews. When you're trying to lift it on and off the fire, you don't want it to be too heavy, so we gave it a coat of Hugh Heat Max spray paint for added protection. Until it's put to the test, I'm going to give it four stars.
