That should be the case. Water does make wood heavier, so I would keep an eye on it if it gets wet. Having such a low fence would make it easy for squirrels to jump on top of it.

It can be setup in a matter of seconds, is very sturdy and the birds love it! We use this shepherd's hook to hang a suet feeder in our yard. The previous hook broke after a little less than a year. Because it is made of stainless steel and thicker than normal, we anticipate it will last longer. It is only the fact that a considerable length (*12") goes into the ground that is our only issue with this product.
