How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
It's natural to wonder if a standard 1mm firepit mat is thick enough to protect your grass, cobbles, or wood. After all, it appears to be quite frail! And, in the vast majority of cases, you'd be correct. Our mats, however, are always 6 because we are the original Fireproof Pros. Pro fireproof protection at 0mm thickness!
3 Layers - Heat 95% Blocks of Heat! Our firepit pad has an aluminum-fiberglass top layer to reflect 95% of all searing heat. The middle layer consists of 5mm fiberglass infused cotton that diffuses the remaining 5%. The bottom silicone-coated layer prevents "scorched earth" by working with the other two layers.
Non-Slip, Waterproof, Scratchproof, and Peel-Resistant: Your mat is non-slip, waterproof, scratchproof, and peel-resistant thanks to the same Triple-Fabric Technology. While some fire pit pads flake and peel as a result of sparks and hot coal, the layers of the Fireproof Pros fire safe mats stay firmly stuck together even when temperatures soar!
A Coal Lump on Fire! This flame-resistant mat can withstand a piece of coal or wood that lands on it at 1800 degrees Fahrenheit. In fact, our Triple-Fabric Technology gives you an extra 2 minutes to locate the tongs and return it to the fire, whereas many others sear the ground beneath them. We even used Kevlar Fireproof Thread to ensure that if coal falls on the seam, your mat will not unravel.
It also comes with a handy carry bag that can be used for transportation or storage! It's best for fire pits with 5-6" legs (or your kettle bbq) and keeps grease, ash, heat stains, and sparks off your surfaces. 36" round, it's best for fire pits with 5-6" legs (or your kettle bbq). Try it right now, thanks to Fireproof Pros.

Questions & Answers

Unless it is made of silica fabric, all fiberglass resists temperatures of 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. This, on the other hand, was not created with that in mind. Then how? Is it true that the information is false?

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. The operating temperature of fiberglass is 1000 degrees Fahrenheit, which is correct. This is a somewhat technical question that can be difficult to explain on our listing due to the limited space we have and for the average shopper. The fiberglass fabric in our mat has 54% silica as part of its composition. That said, we're talking about instant temperatures when we talk about temperatures well above 1000F. When a burning log or the hottest ember falls from the fire pit onto our mat, for example. These can easily reach temperatures of over 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. Most other fire pit mats will not be able to withstand that temperature for even a short period of time in this situation, and the grass/deck/patio beneath will almost certainly be damaged. Our mat, on the other hand, has those extra layers and thickness that significantly slow the transfer of heat to the surface beneath it. With the limited space we have, we do our best to explain this in our listing. For example, it took nearly 2 minutes for us to feel the increased temperature underneath our mat after dropping the hottest embers directly onto our mat (please remember this is not what this mat is meant for and these were only for our many tests). Other mats, on the other hand, were able to measure the intense damaging heat on the surface beneath in real time. Yes, if that extremely high temperature is left on our mat for an extended period of time, it will eventually damage the surface beneath it, as well as our mat, primarily on the top layer. We still recommend a good 4-inch direct heat source for the mat's intended use. The distance between the mat and the edge of the table should be 5 inches. When there's a lot of heat in a short amount of time (1500F-2000F), If the temperature rises to 1800F, you have a window of opportunity to grab your tongs and remove the ember before it damages the ground. I hope this answers your question, despite the fact that it was a lengthy response. br>br>If you have any further questions or if that did not answer your question, please do not hesitate to message me again. I will gladly send you the composition of all of our product's layers.br>br>Andy (Owner)

Is it possible to use this underneath a Lodge cast iron sportsman's grill for bbq?

Thank you for getting in touch with us. If you're talking about the Lodge smaller cast iron grill with the small plastic leg stand and grilling grate on top, we haven't personally tested it with our mat. I'd check the distance between the direct heat source and the ground, as well as the leg temperature. If the leg base is plastic and does not heat up directly, and the distance between the leg base and the mat is at least 4 inches, it should be fine; however, if the bottom base of the grill gets extremely hot and is very close to the mat (less than 4 inches), it may begin to damage and discolor the top layer of the mat over the course of an hour or more. Check the distance between the legs to see if the direct heat source is 4 inches or more away if you have a few moments. We tested larger fire pits with a closer distance to the mat (2. 5 inches) with no problems, but because each grill is unique, it's difficult to give a general answer on distance. To be on the safe side, we still suggest 5- Despite the fact that our mat is more durable, you should be able to lift the grill to a height of 4 inches above the mat in the worst-case scenario. Make sure the diameter is correct as well. Our main mat has a diameter of 36 inches. Your grill's size is unknown to me. In the coming months, we will have a 24 inch size, which may be a better fit if your grill is smaller. br>br>I hope this helps to answer your question, and good luck with your grilling! br>br>Andy (Owner) br>br>

Is it possible to use this to cover and extinguish a fire pit?

I'm not sure, but I'd have to say no; I put mine under the pit to protect the cement, and it's done a fantastic job thus far.

Is this something that could be used in a chiminea?

Yes. A chiminea, as well as a variety of other ovens, smokers, and cast iron stoves, will benefit from our firepit mat. As long as there's at least a 4-star rating, you're good to go. It will be fine if there is a 5-inch distance between the direct heat source and the mat, as most chimineas have some sort of 4-inch distance between the direct heat source and the mat. The fire pit mat should work well with a 5-inch leg stand, table, or base between the heat source and the ground.

After only 45 minutes, the grass was completely burned
3/5

I've attached some photos. We have a very well-kept lawn, which is why we purchased this product to protect it. It is suggested that the product be used on grass or concrete. This is what we ended up with after a 45-minute fire. I'm extremely irritated and frustrated. This mat arrived on Friday and was used for the first time last night. We only used a small amount of wood to test the product because we didn't want it to get too hot the first time, which is exactly what happened. This is a product that I would never recommend.

Ideal for use with a Solostove
5/5

It's the perfect size for my Solostove bonfire stand - 24”. My deck hasn't been scuffed at all. Under the mat, it doesn't even get warm! This mat is also considerably thicker than similar mats available on Amazon. I would strongly suggest it.

The appearance of foil is unappealing
3/5

I didn't realize it was the silver part that was visible. Under a fire pit, it doesn't look so appealing.

Burnt
3/5

This is what I used for my camping wood stove. I had it all set up, but when I lit it, the silver lining began to melt and I smelled a burnt odor. In my mini camper wood stove, there were a few twigs. It wasn't even hardwood, and the fact that it burned was far worse than simply using tin foil.

It really works
5/5

This was purchased to be placed beneath a wood pellet burning fire pit. It has performed admirably. If you're going to use it somewhere other than grass or ground, get it a little bigger than you think. Because the pellets occasionally pop and embers fly out of the pit, it will help protect whatever you place it on.

It's fantastic! We used it under our Blue Sky fire pit and it worked perfectly; there were no heat rings or marks on the RV park's asphalt

My Solo stove appears to be a more secure option
5/5

Despite all of the positive feedback, I was hesitant to use my new Solo stove on our attached wooden deck. This fireproof and heat-resistant pad fits perfectly under the stove, and I feel more secure having it there whether I need it or not. It appears to be a perfect match. 😊.
