That is EXACTLY what we intended to do with it. It was an excellent solution.
This corn is a favorite of deer. We placed it on the opposite side of our property from our small trees, and so far this year, no deer have harmed them.

I ordered this for my parents' deer feeder and was taken aback when I opened the package to find a tiny clear plastic bag. Simply put, there isn't much here for the money. I'm sure the corn was of good quality, and the deer devoured it, but corn can be purchased in much larger bags at your local box and farm stores. Sorry for the inconvenience, guys:.
I had no idea it was just a bag of corn when I could have bought a 40-pound bag of deer corn for $7 at Walmart or Tractor Supply Store. Sure, it was of good quality and "clean," but it was only for squirrels and raccoons to eat. I'm not sure what was going through my head at the time. I'm sure that shipping took up the majority of the cost. Save your money and shop at your neighborhood stores.
I noticed, as did other customers who purchased this corn, that Tractor Supply offers four times the amount for the same price. I bought this corn because it was advertised as squirrel food, and I have twenty tame squirrels that I feed. I had to feed them banana slices and peanuts instead because the squirrels refused to eat it. The squirrel's favorite food is always peanuts, and the bag was ripped.
Because I didn't use it for the intended purpose, my rating isn't ideal if you're looking for a feed. I put it in a sensory bin for my son and he loved it. I washed it and everything, but some of the corn pieces were moldy right out of the package and didn't look as good as they did in the picture. I'll simply go to a nearby store next time.
It's a great product that our deer and birds enjoy. For the amount of corn received, the price is a little high; I wish it were a little less expensive so that we could purchase it on a regular basis.
This item was purchased with the intention of making microwave heating pads. The corn was free of bugs. As far as I'm concerned, it's free and suitable for my purposes, so mission accomplished.
Although I am aware that my deer will have to share with her other friends, I am pleased with the product and will purchase it again.
Corn is what it is. It appeals to the deer, as well as whatever else comes along to nibble on it. A free meal is something that nature will not pass up.
