Questions & Answers

The model you are looking at has bee guards?

This is what I have of the three models available The prize consists of 4 rubies, 1 diamond, and My only problem has been "bee" and "ant" issues. I take down my feeder every 3 days in warm weather, dump the nectar (the only nectar I use and without any food coloring), thoroughly clean all parts, inspect for mold, and let them The warm weather allows me to do this three to four days each week. Another time I had ant problems with a feeder that was staked into a flower pot, but it had a holder that was not ante-proof. Used it once and then forgot about it.

How can I protect myself from ants?

A moat is built on top of the Make sure it is filled The feeder is now the only one I use. If you fill the moat with water, the walls don't leak, and the moat actually works. It is not recommended that oily, greasy, or sticky substances be used There is no way to avoid it it gets on their feet, beak, feathers, and wings.

Can you tell me whether the container is made from plastic or glass?

Glass is used for the container

If I fill the jar with nector and turn it over to hang the feeder, how much will spill out?

My usual practice is to cover the jar with water to the brim after filling it. As soon as I grab the top of the feeder (the plastic part with hook) I turn the feeder right-side up, then grab the very bottom of the feeder (the plastic part with the flower sippers and parking areas for your feet). There is nothing for gravity to do but do its job. This is the first time since I purchased the feeders that I have not lost a sip. What a hit! They love it!

Hummingbird hobby is taking over your life

Do you buy the large bags of sugar that a warehouse would use? When you walk outside, are you swarmed by curious little critters? Is it so bad that they stare into your windows and chirp angrily as your supplies Here's what you need if you want a feeder. My cat has been fed by every major brand out there, and although this feeder is rather pricey, it's definitely worth it. I will tell you why this is so Except for the little wire hook, all parts of this feeder can be placed in the dishwasher. It is absolutely essential to keep a clean environment if you feed Hummingbirds. Black mold can easily grow on feeders, and if the birds catch it, they die a slow death by starvation, since their throats swell up and they can't consume anything. The best thing to do would be to not feed them at all if you won't clean the feeders. When you put the feeders in the dishwasher, you sanitize them so that you won't have to scrub them with those little This feeder screws onto the glass reservoir at its top. wouldn't know where to begin to describe the genius of this design. It is impossible to put metal feeder tops in a dishwasher since they are usually glued on or attached by a metal cage. You'll also end up with a mess on your lawn or patio once the glue fails, and the feeder will fall off the hook once the reservoir falls off. There is a space built into the Feeder top that also functions as an ant moat, so you do not need to buy There are a couple of things I would like to bring up to you The full weight of this heavy duty glass feeder is approximately 9 pounds when filled with sugar water. When carrying it, make sure you grip it both from the top and the bottom, and if you need to hang it, make sure you have a sturdy place to hang it. I have no concerns about the wire hook that comes with it, as it is not at all flimsy. Make sure you take good care of it. Your best bet might actually be a zip tie to fix the opening in the top of the feeder (I think it's more likely to work with.

Listed below are some qualities that I like about the feeder, since I wasted a lot of time on another one that just looked like it was solidly constructed
5/5

1) This one is prettier despite its thinner materials. 3) I no longer have to dread cleaning my feeder, as the clean-up is easy and fast. 4) I no longer have to worry about the sugar water spilling on my balcony, since the feeder is constructed in such a way that this cannot happen. 4) The flowers are permanent, yet birds still find their way to them without using elaborate artificial flowers. The top has a protective moat around it to keep ants at bay when it rains. 6) During the night I can even fill the bottle with slightly warm water and it won't be foggy the next morning. It's possible to forget to replenish a feeder, but at least birds get every last drop of water.

The work is great, the quality is good
5/5

I've been using it for over a month now, and I'm very happy with it I've never had a leak. The hummingbirds are attracted to it, especially during the winter. It is these pads that you It's worth spending more on a high-quality one, instead of a cheap one with leaks. Make sure you change the nectar and clean the feeder at least once a week The first two weeks are particularly important. Heat is present in hot weather.

I am happy with what I have heard Every type of feeder has its strengths and weaknesses, and I have used a variety of them
4/5

I avoid the ones with metal bottoms since they rust pretty easily, and I also don't really like the all plastic style. Therefore, I tend to find a style like this that offers a glass holder with a solid plastic bottom bird-sitting One of the main problems with the glass ones is that they tend to crack and break after a couple of years of use. I have encountered this with the last three different brands of these items. It remains to be seen how well this particular feeder will hold up over the long term since this is the first I have tried from this particular brand. Upon arrival, the thick glass top of my feeder had a slight chip at the edge, just under the moat and hanging There is no indication that a defect was overlooked during the manufacturing process, or how the damage has occurred. My initial test of filling up the feeder with water and letting it dry did not affect it as I was not able to hear any leaks. I decided to keep the chip since it's located at the top where food will be. In terms of the plastic base, the birds do not seem to have any trouble sitting on it, but the yellow flowers do seem to drop out easily. The removable parts make them easy to clean, but I would prefer them to have a locking mechanism so that they would be able to stay firmly in place. One positive aspect of the yellow flowers is they seem to provide birds with an excellent meal. In any case, it is easy to disassemble the feeder from the base and clean it, and this is crucial for keeping mold and bacteria at bay. In addition to the smaller feeder's ease of use, the fact that the solution is protected from spoiling and wasting makes me appreciate it. It is easy to fill with its good size and good opening. As far as I know, this is the first one I have purchased that comes with a miniature ant moat, which appears as a bowl in the top that is filled Ants do not appear to be able to get to the solution when it is covered with this material. For myself, I use sugar water boiled on the stove that seems to work just as well as store bought sugar water solutions We have bought stuff that our hummers love. It seems that the glass is of decent quality and is solid. It will take time for it to stand up to the hot summers on the East Coast It is a sturdy metal hook that is small, but also does the job The feeder is so far working well, with the exception of the small chip, as it appears to have no leaks and appears to work well. In the event that the feeder suffers from any durability issues, I will update my review.
