This feeder started to rust after I received it and the base where the birds feed was exposed. To fix the problem, I tried several methods, from thoroughly cleaning the area to applying a clear, protective coating. Having researched further I came to the conclusion that the rust contamination is actually making the hummingbird sick or even possibly killing it.
The hanger did not come with it. In the end, it was home depot that is one of the answers that the company should address right away

It's artsy, elegant, and the perfect balance of classic and contemporary! Why I'm in love with this feeder. The best feeder is this one, I have proof. My first purchase was a very expensive and beautiful bird feeder that proved difficult to use and was frustrating because I could not determine when to refill it. Therefore, I chose this one which is beautiful, functional, and I can easily tell when I should refill it. Although we had just gotten home from work, I was eager to hang it despite the late sunset. Sadly, my husband never got his hook hooked to the hook, so that meant the ladder crashed on The glass shattered and I screamed as I knew it most likely had. However, this did not happen! I like how it is My recliner was in my living room, so I gazed out the window as I sat in my chair. It was amazing that my regular hummers took action right away! They came in just a couple of minutes after it was left hanging. I think this is classy, artsy and very well designed in its own right. What a blessing it is to see the hummingbirds, God's amazing.
