Perches on a high point of the feeder provide the hummingbirds with a comfortable place to rest while they drink from the feeder's four feeding ports, allowing them to observe birds without being distracted.
Unlike other birdfeeders, this bright red cover does not attract hummingbirds from a distance. It is also easily removed for quick and thorough cleaning.
Unbreakable polycarbonate is used to make this item.
A total of 4 feeding ports are available.

Questions & Answers

With my current feeders, there is a problem with bees feeding. The bees won't be able to feed if this one is installed?

I have a hard time answering that question. You will always have bees attracted to anything sweet, and this feeder does not differ in that regard. It's just that bees cannot get to the nectar in any significant way, and then for them to do so would result in It seems that the bees manage to get in but cannot During the old days, I used to have feeders that would easily attract 50 bees or more in a continuous flow. By that time, the hummers were staying away until evening because the nozzles they would feed from were covered with bees. Feeders such as this one do not operate by gravity, so the creatures must land and poke their tongue down to eat. On the inside, there is also something similar to a vacuum break, with four holes that somehow break the vacuum. A few bees usually manage to squeeze through between the four holes provided by the birds and the four holes that are available to feed from. The only other animals I've encountered are maybe another bird at the feeder besides that, I haven't noticed a squirrel, raccoon, or anything else. So far, I have found that the design works well

Do I have to fill the moat if I get ants in mine? Would you mind telling me what you've done with it?

It is true that sometimes ants are a hazard In addition, gnats and small wasps are also capable of causing harm. In addition, I always make sure my moats are filled and my feeders are cleaned on a weekly basis. The hummers and small birds like to drink from the moats, so I only use plain water (no dish soap) to clean the feeders. Aside from hummers, wrens and chickadees sometimes stop by the moats to drink.

If so, are squirrels and raccoons able to drink the nectar from this type of feeder as well?

This cold beverage is a favorite snack of raccoons, who can hold it with their cute little hands and drink it. You just have to decide where you want to place Neither I nor a squirrel have ever gotten caught in a box. Although I don't place my hummingbird feeders in places where raccoons can get them, I have witnessed raccoons drinking from a hummingbird feeder for quite some time.

Do you know of any problems attracting roaches to hummingbird feeders?

However, I did have a gravity feed type feeder that attracted bees, so I haven't seen roaches. The one I have does not seem to do that and there is very little evidence of dead insects within the feeder container.

This Hummingbird Feeder is all you will ever need or want! For the longest time, we used the common hummingbird feeders found everywhere, but they were incredibly hard Wasps, on the other hand, found them attractive since they could easily eat from them
5/5

We did not think much of the bees and wasps at first because we figured they had to eat as well. We were watching the hummingbirds being viciously attacked by wasps when we noticed them. After reading that the birds can be killed by wasps easily due to their small size and their being fiercely possessive of the feeder, we realized that they tend to go after the wasps. As a result. This is the first time that we've ordered a HummZinger and we are thrilled with it. I love how easy it is to clean this! As the top just lifts right off, you can easily wash the inside of the bowl. The wasp problem is now resolved since they are unable to If you have the problem of ants crawling down the hanger (or up the post if that's how the feeder is mounted), there is even an ant moat in the center of the feeder that can be filled with water. The hummingbirds in our little mill village are very happy with this feeder because it has everything they could possibly need. It was a good purchase! A counterfeit product or a poor quality product! Here is the response I received from the Aspects company after contacting them about 5 feeders that had broken
3/5

There is a lifetime guarantee on them. My deepest sympathies go out to you and I apologize for the difficulties you are experiencing. Thank you for taking the time to write. Unfortunately, you are one of the many, many consumers we have heard from who have purchased through Amazon and are having issues. Since Aspects does not sell to Amazon directly, we cannot ensure the authenticity of the feeders they are selling under the Aspects logo, and the quality is poor. In the future, any Birding or Lawn and Garden related items will be treated as a priority Authentic Aspects products would be available at garden stores (or their DIRECT webstores), backed by a lifetime warranty.

I have finally been able to get a bee-keeper It is a hassle-free way to feed hummingbirds
5/5

A hummingbird feeder from First Nature was one of my favorite things- It wasn't until the bees discovered them that they became dominant. We have tried all the remedies commonly recommended for the removal of bees, including Use a diluted version of the 1 Avoid feeders with the color yellow. Using a sugar and water blend, let bees have a nearby feeder with yellow accents and a sweeter one The only thing we could do was try to move hummingbird feeders to a new location, hang feeders in the shade, replace nectar daily because bees prefer nectar that has sat for a few days, etc. In the following days I bought the "bee-keeper's" There was an even greater or even better reaction from the bees from the "bee proof" feeder from First Nature instead of their standard There were four of them piled high all around the My next purchase was a Perky Pet feeder that was equipped with bee guards, which I really believed would help. Not at all. Upon returning, I went to a hummingbird forum for assistance and learned that none of the inverted-waist hummingbirds I have seen in the past have These feeders, which have a center reservoir that you turn upside down, can be considered bee-friendly This is especially true when it is hot, because the nectar will bubble up past bee guards right away. Their recommendation was to use saucer-shaped cups I recommend the HummZinger line of feeders from Aspects instead. center reservoir, HummZinger feeders have a limited capacity in comparison with inverted-tube feeders. Feeders of a certain style Only a few people hold a 5-year degree The hummingbird feeder is actually a 12-ounce feeder, so the 8-ounce one is actually bigger) and I was intrigued by the elevated perch offering unobstructed views of the It is also compatible with the Nectar Guard Tips from Aspects, which are designed to keep flying insects away from It has been my intention to try the feeder first without the nectar guards but I appreciate having the option to add them in the future. With the HummZinger HighView feeder, you simply have to fill a tube Basically, it's made up of a clear plastic bowl (with a handy nectar scale on one side and a deep ant hole in the middle) and a red cover that pops on and off. Built from unbreakable polycarbonate, it is guaranteed to last a lifetime! If you choose to hang it, you can either attach it to a pole/post (the instructions say to attach directly to a 5/8" dowel or to a 1/2" pole), or you can attach it to the bowl by screwing a brass rod into the center of the bowl. As for now, I've chosen the latter option and will hang the feeder from the same shepherd's hook where one of my bee-keepers is hanging Earlier that day, First Nature feeders had been hanging with a cockroach infestation. My curiosity about the bees grew as I watched them for the first time The hummingbirds are not to be missed either The new feeder style will respond well to the changes. It was almost immediate for the hummingbirds to dive into the new feeder since they are always out and about before the bees. The First Nature feeders actually seem to be their favorite (during the times when they aren't covered in bees), but that could just be because they have been using them for a longer period of time When they discovered they could not get to the nectar, they eventually looked elsewhere for sugar. Then the bees arrived, prepared to enjoy their usual nectar breakfast. But when they found out they couldn't access the nectar, they eventually decided to move on to another feeder. The HummZinger feeder is designed to prevent bees from accessing the nectar. However, how does it work? It's that easy. In this photo, there are no bee guards, and the four slightly raised feeding ports look completely standard. The reason that the bees are not drinking the nectar is that the distance between the nectar and the feeding port opening is too great. Despite the fact that the nectar can fill the bowl up to the 12 oz line on the nectar scale, the bees will not be able to reach it. By contrast, the tongues of hummingbirds are like micropumps that can easily reach even the bottom of the bowl and function as micropumps. If you only have a couple of hummingbirds and don't want to waste a lot of nectar, you could fill the bowl up to the 4 oz or 6 oz line and your hummingbirds will still be able to drink it.

Despite the fact that the bees are unable to access the nectar, they will continue to try. There will be an extra incentive to try if they find a few drops of nectar near the feeding ports. After drinking from the feeding ports, hummingbirds sometimes pull their beaks out of the ports and a drop or two of nectar drips onto the ground, attracting bees and It really is no big deal just wipe down the outside of the feeder with a damp cloth or paper towel when you have time, even though I rarely do so. Bees that realize they can't access the nectar give up shortly after learning of the limitation, and they won't be able to keep hummingbirds away just by themselves. Others put mineral oils or non-stick cooking oils on their grills Hummingbirds can be injured by chemicals that are sprayed on reservoirs around feeding ports to prevent nectar drips from sticking. This is not recommended, since harmful substances will accumulate on the hummingbirds. Bees cannot access nectar, but flies and other tiny flying insects can fit through the feeding ports and drown in nectar (though I've also found a few that were still alive after the nectar had evaporated). I have this problem with every hummingbird feeder I own, and this one is no different. The nectar guard tips could be useful in that situation. One advantage of using this feeder instead of an inverted feeder is One advantage of this design is that you don't have to empty all of the nectar out when you open the feeder. You could simply open the clear feeder to get rid of an insect if you see it swimming around inside. As well as adding or removing nectar, you may also clean and empty the feeder without having to remove it completely. I should add that when the hummingbirds drink from the clear bowl, you can see the ripples in the nectar when they use their tongues to drink. In order to prevent the growth of mold and bacteria, Aspect recommends that you change the nectar and clean the feeder every three days. (When it's very hot, I try to clean it every two days). This feeder is extremely easy to clean. The only thing hidden could be mold or intricate flower patterns because there are only two pieces on each end. A toothbrush must be used to clean the feeding ports. It's all that needs to be done is to If you clean or fill the feeder, you do not need to remove the brass hanger rod. You can even wash this feeder in the dishwasher, unlike the First Nature feeders.

Feeder as it should be
5/5

Bottle design that is upright is much better than the upside-down As a result of using bottle hummingbird feeders which leak and attract bees, wasps and ants, so we decided to give this version As of now, I am very happy with the product. Despite running this 100-foot plumbing line for over a year, I have not discovered any leaks There is a degree of weather we are experiencing. The feeder does not attract bees like our other feeders, and so far no bees have swarmed it. A few have checked it out, but moved on. There appears to be no leakage from its Clearly, this is due to the design of the feeder, where the nectar is below the seams and feeding holes, instead of inverted like most In addition to the ant moat, there is a second one for catching ants, but in this high temperature weather, it evaporates rather rapidly. As compared to the tons of ants we have inside the other feeders, I have only found a few random ants inside this one. In summary, our three-year project has been a success so far It is a favorite of the four hummingbirds we get each year! Since we put this feeder up last week, this one has become our favorite of all! We have five different feeders around the yard. Their ability to feed for a longer period is also due to utilizing the perch. The upside-down bottle feeders don't fit well with this feeder, so I would definitely recommend this one. In almost every way, this one beats those!.
