Questions & Answers

Would 2 of these houses be able to house morning doves if they are set apart?

Sorry, but I have no experience in that respect. However, I did have some robins nest at one end of our house, and at the other end of the house there was a nest Approximately 60-80 percent of the population was involved There is a 70 foot distance between them.

Is there a preferred direction for the dome?

As a good rule of thumb, you will want to face your Robin Roost between the north and east as this will provide you with more protection from direct sunlight, wind, and rain, ensuring a more suitable and safe climate

Do Barn Swallows work with this?

In my opinion, it would not be suitable for Barn Swallow applications. In their nests, barn swallows use mud, sticks, and saliva, which they mix together. Nests are built on the sides of floor joists, roof eaves, and other surfaces of vehicles. In addition to including a picture, it would be helpful if you could imagine a wooden bowl cut in half and glued to the side of a vehicle As you can see, I'm using a metaphor. With the use of an old shoe, I nailed it to a vehicle wall (toe down) and a flock of cardinals came to eat of it. There is the possibility that it might work for Barn Swallows, but I am unable to comment on that.

Are blue jays likely to benefit from this?

While I am not sure if it will work for the Blue Jays, I think it will work for the

A dog house would be an apt description of this product
3/5

In my opinion, this bird house is of no use to me, since the birds do not use it. It is a zero for me If I could give it less than five stars it would be because it fails to meet the sole purpose it is meant to fulfill! The robin who built a nest on top of my porch light repeatedly built nests over the years. In the past, the nest had problems when she got spooked as we opened the door, resulting in one of the babies falling out. This year, it went smoothly, but we had some problems the year before when she got spooked. I decided to do this because I am a softie. I covered up the porch light and placed this birdhouse on the other side of the door to make it seem inconspicuous. In spite of her attempts to build a nest on top of the porch light, she continued to do so. There were pieces all over the place. As a result of doing this back-to-back Over a few days I took the pieces and put them in the bird house. That's when I noticed the fatal flaw of this product. Look at an actual robin's nest, they are too tall to fit in this thing with the little roof. There was at least an inch and a half of depth in the nest because they build tall sides to keep the babies inside, maybe even more, and that barely fits into that thing, let alone the fact that the mother bird has to fit into that thing as well My eyes were opened when I saw that and realized how useless this product is and told her the truth. This is partly my fault for not conducting research into this but, in my opinion, it's also a shame that this company continues to sell a product marketed for Robins when they wouldn't even use it in the first place. As a matter of fact, the product is now in another area of the house, where it has never been touched by any other bird. It's funny how I thought that hornets and wasps might use it, but they won't even bother with it.

This product is The fact that the product is built from recycled materials is good, but I cannot recommend it to fellow bird lovers in New York none of the birds in New York would even think of touching it, and the design is faulty enough that it could not work properly for Robins. An asterisk.

Feeling so bad was awful! At my front porch light, a robin did not give up on building her nest
5/5

As I tore it down, I had to start over. Feeling so bad was awful! This was the order I made. Make it closer to the front door so that it's further from the entrance. It is still under an This is what she came across and she is in love with Her videos are still available for me to watch. Despite the fact that she attacks people at the door, she never attacks. I'm very impressed with how well made it is. Robins will love it! I appreciate your kind words.

We have hatching baby birds! The cardinal's nest was rehomed using this small shelter and it was perfect! The mama bird took some time to find it, but she eventually did, and it's an extremely sturdy little shelter for the baby birds!

This is an empty nest
3/5

I bought it hoping the Robin on my porch beam would reconsider where her next nest will be built. She didn't. Next, we moved the nest back to the porch, and she sat on her nest again. Baby birds left. A little while later, we moved the nest back to the porch again. A plan I made was to move the old empty nest to the new cedar one I bought (15 ft from the old one and out of the wind and in the However, another robin is on the way (or is it laid another batch of eggs on the nest that was left empty. As a result, the cedar robin roost in my new yard My annoying carpenter bees might have even adopted it as home. There was a lot riding on this, and I'll keep trying until it works. Are there any tips you can share? It took me quite some time to convince my husband to hang it for me so I'm hoping things will work out. In our opinion, it is well built, and the roof is nice. It looks quite natural, so depending on where it is hung, it is very discrete.

The quality of the product is very good
5/5

So far there are no birds in our birdhouse because we just hung it this weekend. Our deck is where the robins usually build their nests every year so it makes sense for us to mount the house there. Due to the cracks between deck boards, the robins abandon the nest as soon as it rains and the water runs into the nest. Hopefully, a house covered in white will help to keep them here. I like the way this house is built and the features it has The countersink has been drilled and countersinked The holes were drilled at an angle. It was important that the roof miter joint be caulked to avoid the risk of wet robins.

The construction is of high quality
5/5

This roosting platform is well constructed. I was impressed with its quality. A replacement for another nesting platform with a lower roof, I purchased this specific nesting platform (weatherproof materials held together with screws). It appears the robins never used the first nesting platform, choosing instead to build their nest on the 18-foot platform. We have two pillars at the entrance to the building. They were nesting on a pillar when I moved the nest to the new (This new nesting box has a 20 foot base. The wire spikes and the 3M double-sided tape I purchased are bird proof To keep the robins from building their nest near our front entry, we bought double-sided tape from Amazon to install on the pillars.

This morning dove family hat would be the perfect fit for her
5/5

family of robins has raised their young here above my deck for a long time. She has a house that I bought her this year. The nest was already in place by the time I returned though, so I did not bother with it There was no way for me to get there in time. When my family had long gone, I erected the house and built a garage My assumption was that the first tenants would move in next spring. When I looked up one day all of a sudden I was in the middle of a snowstorm. It's boom time! It has moved in to live inside this beautiful morning dove. She will have a gender reveal party that we hope she will be invited to! The wait will be worth it! I want to make this point The house is in great shape and works smoothly It is just the right size. I'm so glad!.

A roof that has been poorly aligned
3/5

Designed and built solidly, this robin roost has screws to hold it On the other hand, my roof was tilted in an odd direction, and the left wall was not aligned with the right wall. There was an extra 1/4" in the height of the left-side panel of the roost base A side panel of a vehicle. As a result of my email, the company apologized for the shoddy quality of the product. I removed the roof and cut the back of the piece to make my mounting location fit, but was offered to replace the roost if I liked. Please note that if you intend to remove the roof and colored front panel, you will need a square drive/Robertson screwdriver or bit with a #2 size tip instead of a Phillips or Torx.
