Questions & Answers
The bird feeder measures 5 inches by 3 inches. 5" x 12". Lifting the tray up and out is all it takes to remove it.
Cleaning it on a regular basis is necessary. Seeds can get caught between the tray and the tray holder because birds are messy eaters.
The one I bought has four suction cups, each of which is quite large and holds firmly so far. It's a good idea to start with a clean surface and a little water in the cups. This is clearly stated in the feeder's instructions.
Unless the wind is strong and the rain is blown sideways, rain will not ruin the bird seed. In addition, the container's bottom has small holes that drain any water that has accumulated. br>Refill the container with bird seed and throw away the old bird seed; birds will eat the grass as well. br>I hope this information is useful!

It took the birds about a month to trust it, but once they did, they were happy. Greeting the birds at our window has become an important part of our day. So far, a squirrel has figured out how to climb the window frame and get inside, knocking it down once, but it hasn't been a major problem. br>One thing to keep in mind when deciding where to put things: Bird poop will collect beneath and around it. We put ours in a window that looks out onto the deck, which means I have to sweep the shells every day and clean up the mess once a week. It's not too difficult for me because I go out when it's raining, but if you're worried about the mess, putting it over bushes might be a better option. The product is simple to clean and fill, and it produces a steady stream of cardinals, sparrows, Blue birds, chickadees, and other birds. The Tufted Titmouse is a nuisance because it pecks at the seeds, giving us the impression that someone is approaching the door. It's still worth it, though! This is great for kids or anyone who wants to get close to nature.
Within the first hour of it being hung, birds began to arrive! Because we live in a cold climate, I was concerned that it wouldn't stick. We thoroughly cleaned the window and rinsed the suction cups in warm (almost hot) water until they were pliable, leaving only the moisture clinging to them, and it worked perfectly. Squirrels can get close enough to jump, but we just set up a little platform feeder for them below it so they wouldn't have a reason to try, and it's been very effective so far. br>br>The design is also very nice, as the feeding tray has a small insert with "boosters" at the bottom and proper ventilation. As a result, if rain or snow falls inside, it can drain to the level of the seed-bed. The very bottom (where the insert is held) has drainage holes as well, allowing air to enter and dry out any remaining moisture. br>br>I'm very happy with this purchase, and the added bonus is that it's not the most expensive item of its kind out there- However, I can't think of a way to make it better. This is an excellent choice!.
It was only put up the day before yesterday, and the birds have yet to notice it. Some squirrels, on the other hand, have discovered it and are having a great time with it. My csts were fascinated by a fight between two people inside it. It was purchased to provide feline entertainment while the cats lounge on the back of the sofa near the window, and it is meeting that need! It amuses me as well.
This bird feeder was ideal until the suction cups failed and it began to fall off my window. My suction cups are clean as well as my window - To remove any dust residue from being outside, they were washed in warm soapy water. The cups are no longer flexible enough to suction against the glass because the plastic has hardened. I placed the feeder in its proper location, only to discover it on the floor less than an hour later. Because I don't have a window edge to hang it on, this completely defeats the purpose of this item. Unfortunately, the return period has passed, and I'm now stuck with a $25 worth of useless plastic. Very let down.
This was incredibly simple to put up, and despite my expectations that it would take some time for birds to discover it, they did so the next day. Despite the fact that I work in front of this window and sit only 3 feet away, the birds are unconcerned! Chickadees, titmouse, and even a red-eyed vireo have all visited my yard in the last few days. (I was unable to capture a photo of the bellied woodpecker before he flew away. ) The squirrels are unable to access it because it is the only perch on that side of the building. Looking up from my computer screen to see birds eating and staring at me is one of my favorite things to do.
We already had a clear acrylic window feeder and wanted another for the front of the house, but when these larger ones became available, we decided to get this one and move our old one to the front. I like the larger capacity, but this model has a few flaws that weren't present in the previous model. Our usual method of filling the feeder with a red solo cup does not work because the roof prevents the cup from fully horizontal movement. I can either remove the tray and fill it that way, or I can use a smaller cup; the difference is insignificant. br>br>There's enough space between the tray and the rest of the feeder for a lot of birdseed to fill it up, but it's difficult to tell how full the feeder is from inside the house. Because of the small opening, it's extremely difficult to get the loose seed out by hand when you pull the tray out (which we initially thought was a benefit because the birds couldn't knock as much out). I thought to myself, "OK, I'll just use the keyhole slots to remove the feeder from the suction cups. " No, the suction cup nubs are a little too large, and I was pulling on the feeder so hard that I was afraid of cracking it or the window, so I gave up. br>br>I'm sure we'll figure out a way to get around these minor issues, but it's not the most user-friendly product. The birds don't seem to mind it, which is probably the most important aspect; we replaced the other feeder in the same spot, and the birds immediately gravitated to this one.
From the moment it was mounted, chickadees and other birds flocked to it in droves. It's convenient because it allows me to mount it out of reach of the squirrels. It has already been seen by two of my friends, and I have two more for them. Because the birds open the seeds by pecking them against the feeder, a loud tapping noise is produced, which can be mitigated by placing a small soft buffer between the unit's bottom and the glass. You'll also be able to get some fantastic up-close shots. pictures of birds on the wall I adore it!.
