The area that 18 sq feet covers is very deceiving, and it's a lot more expensive than Home Depot.
I purchased the uyoyous 18 Pack Artificial Grass Turf Tiles Interlocking Grass Tiles Self-Assembly Artificial Grass Turf Tiles Self-Assembly Artificial Grass Turf Tiles Self-Assembly Artificial Outdoor Indoor Garden Backyard Draining Artificial Grass Carpet Mat Rug Hedge Plant - To use on my back balcony, I need a 12 x 12 inch (L x W) sign. This was delivered in a box, neatly packaged and undamaged. All of the panels were in place. br>br>There was a foul odor when I first opened the package. Many Amazon products these days appear to have a odor, but this stuff has a particularly unpleasant odor (plastic factory smell). ) It's obviously not a big deal if you're using it outside, but if you're using it indoors, or even before you install it, I'd recommend venting it outside for a while to get rid of the smell. My thoughts on the grass panels are as follows: Advantages: br>br>
- incredibly simple to use without any prior knowledge or instructionsbr>- When walked on, they snap together neatly and appear to stay in placebr>- looks decently nice, with neatly finished edgesbr>- Because there are drainage holes throughout, it can be hosed down for cleaning. br>br>Cons:
- possesses a foul odor (similar to that of plastic)br>- Due to the thick plastic bottom, you won't be able to cut these down to your desired size, so you'll have to work with any combination of the dimensions these panels come in when adding this product to your space. br>- Some people may be picky about the aesthetic, but one edge always seems to have plastic attachment circles sticking out along the side, while the other side has a clean finish. br>- There's no way this is going to fool anyone- It doesn't have the same look or feel as real grass. br>- The way the "grass" lies on each one makes it obvious that they are square panels (perhaps with time, the "grass" will blend together better and look less like squaresbr>- You can feel the edges of each tile as a little textured bump if you walk on it with your bare feet, and this stuff doesn't have the plush cushiony feel of real grass or some flooring, but it is incredibly firm like a hard floor. br>br>These panels are super easy to use and require no direction or skill. It's as if they just click into place. It can be difficult to add additional panels without separating the previous ones once you've gotten a couple of them together. Some of them snap together tightly, while others don't appear to want to do so. One significant disadvantage is that, unlike most flooring, you can't easily trim these panels to fit your space. It also lacks corner or edge pieces (no matter how I arrange these, one whole side always shows the little plastic connectors poking out). )br>br>Overall, if you have a need for it, I'd say this is a good product. Keep in mind that it has a strong odor and will need to be aired out before you can touch it for an extended period of time.
These artificial grass turf tiles have a similar appearance to real grass turf tiles. I realize that doesn't say much, but these tiles are clearly one foot square tiles clipped together when they're down. There isn't much of a blend between the tiles, and there are some odd gaps in the green in some places. The grass appears to be synthetic turf. br>br> It isn't bad-looking artificial turf, but it isn't particularly impressive. br>br>The clip-on system works well. To get the joining tabs to close with the tiles facing down, I used a mallet and smacked them with it. Then I did a complete 180-degree turn. It remained intact, indicating that the locking mechanism is adequate. br>br>Each tile is slightly curved in the center, giving it a distinct look. I'm hoping that when the weather warms up and these tiles warm up, the problem will go away.
This is very appealing, and I'd like to use it for a very small flat path, but I can't seem to get the squares to lock together. I've tried a mallot and hammer, as have three of us, but once I get a few of them together, they just fall apart if I move them. They don't seem to go together. I thought I had three pegs together pretty tight after a lot of wrestling, but once someone stepped on them, they just fell apart; some of my holes don't line up, and they're all too short. br>br>Not happy. I'd hate to think I'd amassed enough resources to cover a larger area. If someone pushes them together every now and then, they appear to be okay, but I need to come up with something better. I would have returned them if I had bought them.
Keeping in mind the one caveat that these interlocking pieces must be used on a level flat surface, these interlocking pieces are simple to connect, creating a surprisingly realistic grassy area that is soft to walk or sit on, easy to clean, and creates an outdoor feel without the upkeep. It's done in a very realistic manner, with little dried out, dead-looking pieces at the base, just like grass does in real life. It was a lot of fun to put this together, and it's great that you can change it up whenever you want, taking it indoors or out. Check out the photos and video.
You will be given 18 - The pack comes with 12" x 12" squares. It's ideal for a small space. I used this grass to decorate my daughter's playhouse, and it looks great! The squares are also very easy to connect!.
