Is it possible to use these stones? The blue stones are much more durable and do a much better job compared to Like all stones, they will grind a blade tooth, except that, like all stones, they wear down quickly and the shape and diameter of the stone change with time and so does the grind. While these stones are good for making a first quick pass on the blade, if you want a truly sharp and even blade, you should buy the diamond stones for this final pass. Metal spindles maintain their shape giving a more uniform grind because diamonds are mounted to them.
These were purchased to sharpen my 18 inch Echo brand chainsaw while using my Dremel 4000 series tool. In the end, these stones do what they are intended to do. This was my first time using this brand, and my chain was a little With the first stone, I was only able to sharpen the chain once. Despite that, it cuts better than when it was brand The blade can be sharpened twice with a single stone before I throw it in the trash, if all it needs is a quick touch up. Thanks to these tools, I will never have to file the sharpening blade on my chainsaw In comparison to replacing the chain, I save a lot of time and money by using these tiny stones. My second package of this brand is already on its way.
I've been sharpening my knives with these Oregon stones for years now. A standard Dremel or an Oregon Sure Sharp rotary tool is compatible with the 12 volt blades. If you are buying a chain saw, make sure you get the right size and diameter. Stones typically have a diameter between three and four centimeters. It will be listed on the box of the replacement chains what the correct diameter is. This looks like a heavy-duty chain sharpener that sharpens chains very quickly.
I have worked on these. Using them on a Dremel at slow to moderate speeds ( you don't want the tooth to get too hot ) leaves them with a really nice edge. As the title states, I've been using the cheap pink ones from the farm supply store near me, and while the pink ones were typically one and done, I can see that these are probably good for three and a half sharpenings This is a highly recommended product.
Generally, I find that they split up very easily or wear out too soon. With a single stone I am barely able to sharpen a 10" chain, if it does not first break.
In the beginning, it worked OK and is faster than using a file.
Maybe a size and hardness combination made the difference. A minimum amount of use results in the glass shattering. There doesn't seem to be a problem with the files, but could it be a user error? This idea is good, but I didn't find it to work.
Sharpens the teeth of chainsaws well with a good grinding stone. The day after a cutting day is the best time to use this product. Patience is a virtue. Rotate the rotary tool at the slowest speed possible. Be careful not to put too much pressure on the nozzle. Cutting edge is returned to very good condition. The cost is much less than spending time and money at a shop to sharpen blades. A quicker way to file than by hand.
It does what it needs to do. Suitable for Oregon chain saw sharpeners, this replacement part fits them. The purchase of this size might be worth your while if it is the right size.
