Because it's made from vegetables, this bar and chain oil is environmentally friendly. This is fantastic. It has just the right amount of viscosity and lubricity to get the job done. br>br>I used it to trim some large trees in my yard with my Milwaukee M18 cordless pole chainsaw attachment, and it performed admirably. Petroleum-based products are not something I would use. Because it would be like pouring toxic and carcinogenic engine oil into my backyard if I used petroleum-based bar and chain oil in my yard.
I like how biodegradable it is, and it works well in both chainsaws I have. All chainsaws "leak" some oil when turned off, and you should always lubricate the saw guide and chain while running. I like that I'm not polluting the environment as much as I would if I used regular bar and chain oil.
Keeping petrochemicals out of the woods is a good thing.
The product is good, but the shipping method is not. It arrived via USPS with minimal packaging, laying on its side. A small foil seal under the cap failed at some point, and about a cup to a cup and a half of liquid leaked into the shipping box, saturating it.
This product appeals to me because it is environmentally friendly. It keeps my saw's chain lubricated and reduces wear on the bar and chain.
It appeared to be stickier and adhered to the bar better than regular motor oil.
