Questions & Answers

How effective is it at removing scum and water residue from a boat's bottom after it has been moored for about four months?

Kathy, the pressure from this washer will get rid of almost all of the stains on my driveway. I used to work for a company in the Northwest that built fiberglass boats, and if yours is made of fiberglass, I wouldn't use it too close to the surface. As you move away from the surface, the pressure in all washers diminishes. The scum on the boat's bottom will be washed away with this washer, but getting it too close may cause the fiberglass to "sand." If the boat is made of aluminum, there will be no issues. I hope this has been of assistance.

Is putting it together a hassle?

It was very simple to put together.

What's the difference between the $10 blue one and the $10 green one? 20 more?

Instead of the standard color green, you're paying for a custom color (blue).

For non-professionals, there is a simple fix

Pumps that are operational. Read this if your pressure washer has completely stopped working! br>br>I had purchased this pressure washer a little over two years ago for a single job that took about four hours in total. I put the unit away at the time and forgot about it for the next two years, until I needed it again this summer. The pump ran for about 5 seconds after I took it out and turned it on before "dieing. " " I tried for days without success to get it to work. I was one week past the two-year warranty period, and I was furious that I was stuck with this piece of garbage. Then, while talking with a coworker, he mentioned that after each use of the pressure washer, you should use a pump protector lubricant. I did some research and discovered that residual water in the unit can cause the internal gaskets of the pump to seize up. I'm not sure if this is because of the minerals in the water. I was on the verge of purchasing a new pressure washer when I decided to give the pump protector liquid a try on my "dead" unit. br>br>In the tools isle at Wall Mart, I purchased "Powerfit 3oz Power Washer Pump Protector. " My pump and pressure washer were brought back to life by this $5 liquid!! The bottle's plastic threads are actually screwed into the pressure washer's threaded garden hose inlet. Squeeze the bottle a little more after that. Because I couldn't tell if the liquid was actually going in, I had no idea if I was doing it correctly. After about 10 minutes, I connected the hose and the unit started working. br>br>I hope this is of use to someone! br>br>Update 5 br>br> 18 - Another simple solution for a broken unit is to: )
- br>Earlier this week, I had a problem with the pump not starting, which the power wash pump protector liquid trick didn't solve. I thought it was an electrical problem, so I tried different outlets. It turned out to be an electrical problem with the power washer's GFCI plug (possibly because I left it outside in the rain for a few days last year). ) Remove the cover from the GFCI plug on the unit with a phillips screwdriver while it is unplugged. If there is a lot of moisture trapped in the plug after the cover has been removed, the plug will not run. br>br>I went to my local hardware store and purchased a replacement plug. By typing the following into the Amazon search bar, you can find the same replacement plug that I used to successfully repair my pressure washer: "Leviton 16693 15-" says the label. Amp, 120- GFCI"br>br>"Volt, Grounded, Compact Automatic Reset Right Angle GFCI"br>br>"br>br>"br>br>"br>br>"br>br>"br>br>"br>br>"b Simply connect the wires to the new GFCI plug (black wire to gold connector, white wire to silver connector) and tighten the screws to secure the wires. The "U" shaped stress clamps that come with the new plug should be screwed down tightly to keep the wire in place. After that, simply replace the cover and you're ready to go. br>br>7th Update- 20 - Quick connect spray nozzles require routine maintenance. br>- My Sun Joe washer is still running strong after 5 years. It's possible that the very fine holes in the quick connect spray nozzles will corrode after a few seasons with your pressure washer. Any amount of corrosion can reduce the amount of water that can pass through, and I've discovered that it frequently prevents the pump from running and shuts it down. If your pump turns on and runs without a spray nozzle attached to the wand, but does not work when the nozzle is attached, it's a clear indication that you need to reopen the holes in your nozzles. br>br>I took a bowl and poured Vinegar into it. Because I had vinegar on hand, I used it to remove the corrosion; however, there may be other effective methods. I soaked all of the nozzles for about 3 hours in the bowl, then poked around the hole with a sewing needle to remove any corrosion. They were soaked for a few more hours before being rinsed in hot water. Before storing them, I dried them off and sprayed each nozzle with a small amount of olive oil cooking spray to help prevent further corrosion. There are many corrosion inhibitors on the market; I simply used one that I had on hand. This method was effective in that it allowed me to open three clogged nozzles.

BUYING IS A MISTAKE - DON'T BE LIKE ME AND BE AN IDIOT
3/5

Don't make the same mistake I did and buy this unit twice. It's not worth it to buy it even once! Within seven months of purchase, the first unit, which was purchased on August 12, 2017, had completely stopped working. The most recent unit, purchased on 4/14/2018, is leaking from the motor case directly (see video).

What exactly is the issue at hand? I've had experiences since I was a small child, going all the way back to my first purchase, which was probably a dollar cap gun at my local grocery store

When it comes to products, there are many adjectives to use: great, good, bad, and so on. I've never been so perplexed, aggravated, annoyed, or downright perplexed by a product in my forty years of purchasing as I have been with this pressure washer. br>Almost two years ago, I bought it on Amazon. When it came to assembly, I followed the instructions. I've put things together in the past. Despite the fact that I do not consider myself to be a moron, the solution did not work. It didn't turn on at all. As a result, I read the troubleshooting guide. If a product's troubleshooting guide is lengthy, walk away. I tried a different plug, an extension cord, reset the GFCI, and chanted spiritual incantations, and it miraculously turned on! Then it turned off again. In the summer of 2018, that was the case. It was something I never used. It was never going to work. Then the summer of 2019 arrived. Forky was shown to the rest of the world for the first time. "Old Town Road" was the most popular song at the time. And Joe and I made the decision to fight once more. I was prepared to fight, but unfortunately, he wasn't up to the task. Turn it on, turn it off, and don't turn it back on again. He did spray for 10 seconds during the summer, and by the time I got to the house to start, glorious, he had gone back to hibernation. br>We've arrived. 2020 COVID. It's time to get rid of the shingles virus. The filter was thoroughly cleaned by me. A new hose was purchased by me. I looked at a few different faucets. Same. As a result, I've decided to give up. I'm reminded of that cap gun I bought when I was five, which, while it broke almost immediately, provided me with a brief moment of happiness. Even if I order the wrong pizza, I can still eat it. Joe, your actions tore my heart apart.

Junk! It's all nonsense! The unit stopped working a few days after the return period had ended! I strongly advise against using it
3/5

Add to that the fact that I'm stuck with a pressure washer and haven't heard from Snow Joe LLC. Purchase at a local Home Depot or Lowes - At the very least, you'll have a standard return period, as well as local support rather than being left high and dry by Amazon thousands of miles away.
