The answer is yes. It is possible to remove the entire handle. The frame attaches it to the door. It only takes a few squeezes to unhinge the handle. In the end, the basket still consists of a short metal section welded to the metal part. The feature you asked about is really neat and I didn't know about it before.
A grill basket like this is really bad. You cannot lock it The one I had was used once and then thrown

A NEW UPDATE has been made as of There have been a few times I've used the basket. The statement I made about the handle below is retracted. My grill is small enough for me to put the basket and contents on top of the front burner and then close the lid entirely, keeping the wooden handle intact. So far, I have done rainbow trout, chicken breast, potatoes, and butternut squash in it and all turned out well. There is only one thing that I would consider improving about this basket I wish the handle were longer, so that I could set the contents over an even higher It's also hard to handle the basket after it's been filled with meat/veg and I have to open the basket all the way, empty it, and restart without getting burned or having the unfastened, opened basket leave my hand while I try to do this. My knowledge of baskets is limited, and I suppose that is why some are designed this way while others are not. Though I will continue to use this product, I am likely to use it mostly for side dishes or just a few meals per week as it is a little hard I will continue to experiment with this as I learn more. Please note the above is a paraphrase of the original. This is my first ever grill basket and it has turned out pretty well. For uncovered grilling or campfire use, I recommend this product since it is difficult to attach and detach the handle for flipping, and you might burn the wood handle if you leave it in place while cooking on a covered gas grill. I have yet to try cooking fish with it, but I have successfully grilled root vegetables with it.
This BBQ basket is terrific. This is a light and easy to clean material. Among other things, it can be used for fish, chicken, vegetables, and a lot more. Furthermore, I can avoid burns if I use it. A simple way to make BBQ easier.
I like it.
Due to rain, I haven't been able to use it since I bought it last month. Thanks to the nice weather this weekend, it will be a great BBQ In addition to being very easy to flip, bake on both sides, or spread out, like my picture shows, the barbecue clip can also be used as a barbecue shelf. Also, the oil brush and the source brush are perfect for their respective purposes. This sounds good to me!.
The wire basket was a life saver for grilling thin fish, but it had a design flaw that kept it from being highly rated. It was not enough to tighten the latch when the lid was cold to prevent it from sliding back when the charcoal frames heated the basket. Heat expands metal, which causes the simple basket latch to expand and cause the basket to come loose on flipping to grill the other side. It was also difficult to clean, according to the dishwasher person. You might have to soak it first.
The basket went well otherwise. Do watch your flips though. Gravity will hold the basket latch in place while rotating the basket if you keep the handle a few inches above the basket side.
To grill flaky fish on the grill that would otherwise fall apart, this basket proves very useful and practical. We have used stainless steel and the welds have held fine even after many uses on high heat. The mesh has not warped after over a dozen uses. There is a need to spray/brush it with oil, otherwise the fish will generally stick to it. Be careful with the handle that can be removed The basket stays more compact that way, except it sticks to your grill (particularly if you have a Weber kettle. In any case, if the basket is on the grill when you try to remove it (removing the basket is not easy, by the way), then you may damage the grill. As the tension on these prongs is high enough that it's difficult to disengage them from the holes where they clip on) it's easy to get burned. My methods of flipping/moving/removing the basket from the grill have been avoiding using the handle, but rather grabbing the handle with a mitt instead. It's not horrible to clean your house The oil on the stainless steel will discolor and bake on while cooking, so it's hard to clean it back to its original state, but it's not bad to use a stiff brush and scrub the basket. It's a good tool to have though!.
Grilled fish is one of my favorite foods. This grill basket is perfect for it. As a result, it's more secure than other "branded" grill baskets that may be better suited for vegetables than for A basket is not going to be able to remove all the charred material from it, but it would be impossible if it were. Only one complaint I would like to make is that the metal ring supposed to keep the basket closed isn't very secure and it has popped off a few times during the grilling process despite all my efforts to be careful when flipping the lid and closing it. I was still able to fit a thick salmon filet into the basket despite its tight fit.
Squid is my favorite food, so I bought this to grill. This basket is just the right size for the squid. It is easy to assemble, and it can be cleaned in the dishwasher. This brush set comes with two Here is a comparison of sizes between iPhone plus and iPhone.
