Questions & Answers
No, it is not typical for the control valve/regulator to hum when in use, but it has been known to happen on occasion; this hum has no effect on the unit's function or safety, and it does not pose any danger. This humming can occur in the following circumstances: If you're using a 1lb canister and the canister has frozen or frost built up on it outside during use, or if the valve was stored outside in humid conditions causing minor condensation to build up inside the orifice, you can try turning the valve on high and depressing the knob several times simultaneously to see if that clears the orifice. You can also send your valve to Magma to have it tested and evaluated for you. br>If you have any questions, please call 562- 627- 0500, or send an email to [email protected]. I previously gave my 15-inch grill a one-star rating due to the small flame, which I compared to cooking with a Bic lighter. And even the tiniest breeze was enough to blow it away. Nonetheless, I suffered through using this and only cooked a few hamburgers a summer (which took half an hour or more to get to medium rare). After that, it simply stopped working - I couldn't get it to light in the first place - The internet, on the other hand, is said to be taking over as a regulator. What experience do you have with this? For this extra low, low, medium, and high output, Amazon offers four different types of regulators. All of them have the same appearance. I took a chance and ordered the medium, knowing that Magma makes some much larger grills. I only have one thing to say: WOW! What a stark contrast! It's almost as if you're grilling on a regular grill now! I can even set the flame to a lower level than full on. It also doesn't get blown away. Mine had to have come with a low-output regulator from the factory. You shouldn't need to upgrade your regulator, but if you do, it will perform admirably. The parts appear to be identical, and the imprinted numbers appear to be identical as well.
On the threads and the bottle threads, I use grease. I kept it dry in one of my unused live wells and used it about once every two months. It's comparable to a Home Depot regulator, which can be used in a pinch for a lot less on the magma grills with a piece of wire around the spout and a little tinkering. Anyway, I didn't realize it when I bought it because Amazon was the only place selling it at the time, but it is definitely a low-output device. Everyone has said that the grill has been burning out and won't heat up properly, and my friend has put off buying a magma because he is unhappy with mine. The old regulator only blew out once in a while and heated fine, so I'll have to inform him of my error. Use this if you want to bake something slowly with a lot of wind blowouts, but use the high output valve if you want to sear a steak with no blowouts. 3 stars because of the quality of the valve at Home Depot in comparison to the price; FYI, the magma valves also say precimex 6000, which is a $15 Mr. Heater F273769. Because the orifice size is proportional to low/medium/high, you must drill the orifice to the exact same size, depending on which you prefer (low, medium, or high). To match your current orifice, go all the way down to the 64th digit, or simply swap out the orifice for the new valve. I'm able to make flames climb up the sides of. This is a fantastic valve. If I want to, I can get flames up the heat shield's sides. Last time, I bought the low output valve by accident, and we've been miserable ever since, with frequent blowouts and slow cooking. This valve will be set to medium heat on the Cabo (18") grill. It was designed for 22-inch grills, according to the packaging. The top-of-the-knob diagram is also easier to read than the slow output, and guests occasionally had trouble identifying the old valve. This one has a lot of potential to be fantastic. The medium output valve must be the Cabo's stock valve; I'm sure this high output will work better in the wind as well, as the medium blew out occasionally when the bbq was turned in certain directions against the wind, but not nearly as frequently as the slow output. FYI, the precimex model 6000, which is also a $15 Mr. Heater model F273769, is listed on the magma valves. Because the orifice size is proportional to low/medium/high, you must drill the orifice to the exact same size, depending on which you prefer (low, medium, or high). Even down to the 64th orifice to match your current or preferred orifice, or simply swap out the orifice for the new valve. Next, I'll bend and tack weld a larger stainless box similar to the valves' box but with an open bottom, mount a universal electronic ignition with a piece of fireplace door seal between the ignition and the wall inside the box facing the bbq, and mount it just behind the valves' box. That upgrade kit ought to be made.
This is the gas regulator with the control valve that all Magma grills should come with. While I'm disappointed that I had to upgrade from the cheap regulator that came with my Trailmate Magma grill, it is far superior to the one that came with it. The control knob is far superior to the regulator that came with my grill in terms of quality.
These regulators are ideal for a small grill on a boat when they function properly. We've gone through a lot of them in the past, but they're all set up to work with their grills, so we have to pay a little extra for these regulators to get the grill to work. The grill is fantastic. We've never had any problems with the grill, but the regulator is temperamental at times and won't put out a lot of fuel, which makes grilling a little slow. I had to give it good reviews because there is no other regulator available for this brand; however, I would buy it again because I enjoy my grill.
They can't float because they aren't made of water. It's only a matter of time before this d@mn thing falls off if you use your grill while it's dangling from your boat's side rail. When you're adjusting the grill position, the regulator is fairly simple to remove. You'd better figure out a way to attach it to something, or you'll be buying these on a regular basis. br>br>Works great, and I prefer the design to that of my previous marine grill. It has a prominent label. You never knew if you were on high, low, or whatever with my old one.
This works great with my Magma grill, and now that we have a grill mount, we've been able to grill outside. Everything is in good working order:.
This low-flow valve produces a lot of heat, which is great for cooking. It hasn't blown away even when it's been windy. Because of the low flow, it takes a little longer for me to get the igniter to light the flame.
