Questions & Answers

Having the griddle used for camping, I was wondering if it can be folded away or if it can be transported from one place to another. ?

This is not a unit meant to be hauled around, but the legs do fold. The weight of this rock is very heavy indeed. I'm talking about a big unit here. A heavy weight. This product should not be used as a camping item. It has a heavy feel to it. I wanted to buy it, set it up, and cover it at home, but it would need to be bought.

I am using my grill, I often turn the burners off and turn them back on again. When they are on low, they turn off very quickly. Does anyone else have any questions?

You have provided us with valuable information. Thank you. We provide a safety feature by having regulators on the griddles. The propane tank might not have been turned off completely or in the exact manner that caused the regulator to become less sensitive this time. I noticed our most recent batch of regulators are more sensitive than the old ones. You might try pulling the propane tank and Resetting the regulator from the above safety feature should result in it working again. There are also air gates on the front of each burner, which can be adjusted according to your taste. By controlling this ratio, you can control the amount of air in the gas. In the front of the burner tube there is a small silver screw that you can loosen and slide the gate to open or close it more as you prefer. Most of the time, we have the air gates half-closed or even 3/4 That's all I can think of. Our customer service will be happy to provide you with a picture of the air gate instructions or any other information you may need 435-435-6935 There are 252 For more information, please call us at 3030 x 1 or email us at [email protected]. In terms of sales, it's the best Are you experienced? Would it be possible to explain the price difference between the Camp Chef and the Blackstone?

After the first time, just wash it with mild soap, rinse well, then put a little oil, Crisco, etc across and turn on the burners. Let them run for about 15 minutes, turn them off, and then apply a little oil (I Remove excess by wiping it off. I did not stick, so you are ready to cook. Leaving the burners on and squirting or pouring water on the grill will clean it very well. Wiping with a clean rag will also clean the grill well. Then turn the stove off and apply oil, and then wipe. When you're finished cooking, you're ready to move on. The Blackstone 36 inch grill, as well as my tailgater grill, are my favorites. It may be helpful to you.

I'm grillin' like a badass
5/5

You can get your boyfriend this if you ever want to see him have both an erection and grill at the same time. We're at a teppan grill, and he pushes it around like we are there. Observing my tough guy flipping a gardenburger on this monstrous grill from the window, I admire him for his delicacy. Size matters, I can tell you that. The 36" size is the one you want. To prevent rust and to hide it from the elements, we bought the canvas cover. When my boyfriend cheats on me, I know that he will love this so much that he will vandalize it the first time he cheats on me. A Star Trek light up phone he bought in 1984 still holds a special place in his heart.

It was good (finally) to deal with customer service
3/5

A recent update Having reached out to Blackstone for months, they have finally replaced my warped griddletop. Two weeks after I posted my review to Amazon, I received an email confirming the replacement of my review. There is no indication if the poor review (see below) played any part in the replacement of the employee. As of yet, I have yet to season the new griddle (the process requires time). I am* *br* That might be the first review I have ever written It took me such a long time to research what type of flat top griddle to buy. The Blackstone griddle was best suited to my needs since it is foldable and has a 36" width. I also liked that it is portable and I liked the fact that it was at least 36 inches wide. In the end, it took me a full 20lb propane bottle to season I had a great time using it once it had been seasoned. My favorite way to prepare food on it has been to cook various dishes. In the past, I have made pancakes for 120 people with it. I'll tell you the cons now It's important to note that 1) the grease trap is located at the center rear of the home, which As a rule of thumb, I would have preferred the standard trough found on almost every other flat top option. *2) after being used for about 5 months, the griddled taco is worn out. As I was cooking the dish teppanyaki, the griddle started making a loud pop, and eventually became warped permanently. There does not appear to be any damage to the welds. However, you can no longer use it as a ** and 3) Their customer service is either incompetent or often refuses to acknowledge I've tried to work out a warranty replacement or other option for the past two days, but have either been ignored or told I need to contact another Blackstone employee. I was not given any contact information for that individual. My warped griddle will need to be fixed as soon as possible, so I am writing this review in hopes someone at the company will notice me and help me.

For the price, this is a very good griddle
5/5

In this review, I give my thoughts on the 36" Blackstone griddle (model 1554), which I have used for over a year. Considering the price point, I have found this griddle an outstanding value overall. It is possible to find a better griddle, but you will pay a lot more. You will need to do some simple assembly. There was only one box in which the griddle arrived. The lid of the box can be easily removed by cutting the two plastic straps. Despite the well packed components, they are not easily damaged. In order to assemble the unit, I used a 10mm wrench, an adjustable wrench, and a Philips screwdriver. It took me about 15 minutes to assemble it once I unpacked it. I could probably have done the job in 10 minutes or less with someone assisting me. A video on assembly of the Blackstone 36" griddle is available to watch either on Blackstone's website or on YouTube by searching for "Blackstone 36" griddle assembly". Weighing 55 pounds, I weighed the top of the griddle. Approximately 5 lbs. In the event that you aren't comfortable lifting a bulky item of this weight, have someone else assist You can email Blackstone or call them directly if you encounter any problems with your new griddle. A customer service phone number and email address can be found on page 23 of my manual. The customer service team at this company was extremely helpful when I had a small issue. When I called, I received a response within seconds, and I was speaking with a real human within a few seconds (a real human who spoke English as a first You should keep in mind that customer service operates Monday through Friday The following are the grades for grades It will be 5 p. m. Mountain Standard Time. The top of the griddle comes coated in a protective oil to prevent rust. As mentioned in the instructions, your first step after installing the griddle is to wash the A dish soap solution in hot water worked best for me. For the soap to come off, I followed up with hot water. After towel drying and firing up the grill for a few minutes to cook off any remaining moisture, I turned off the grill and turned the oven off. Carbon steel (not Teflon or stainless steel) is used for the top. If it is not seasoned, it will rust. For a lot of griddle users, this is the moment they start slathering on some oil or bacon. It builds up the seasoning that protects the griddle surface and helps keep food from sticking over time. For my own case, I wanted to be more methodical about You can season the griddle the same way you would season cast iron cookware, which is methodical and long lasting. In a video called "Blackstone Griddle Top Recovery" from Blackstone, we learn how to repair the top. The purpose of this video is to show viewers how to restore risen griddle tops However, two minutes and 39 seconds into this video, the topic of seasoning is discussed. My reading of several articles about seasoning cast iron cookware with flax oil confirmed what I saw in the Blackstone video. Ensure that the flax oil you buy is organic, cold pressed, unrefined, and refrigerated. It should only contain flax oil, with no other ingredients. It should be used by the date on the container and should be shaken well before use. Even though you don't need a big bottle of oil, it is expensive. The oil was applied six times on my griddle and I used just a little over 3 ounces. As the layers were added, the oil used was reduced. Among the components of the seasoning coat were This is 1. Wipe a thin layer of flax oil over the cooking surface (I used a paper towel for this). 1. 2. To remove excess oil (I used paper towel), wipe it off with a paper towel. 2.
After that, I ran the burners for 30 minutes or so to basically burn the oil in (I ran for a little longer than 30 minutes). Item 4. Repeat the process after turning off the burners and letting the griddle cool. Ideally, you should have 4 to 6 hours of sleep per night This coat was applied five times. According to articles I read on seasoning cast iron cookware, this should be done six times. In order to achieve optimal results in seasoning, you will have a shiny black surface on your By the time I had applied six coats of flax oil, the surface was nearly as shiny and black as I had hoped. Make sure your level is correct. Be sure that the griddle is at the right level before cooking. Whatever you have on hand can be used as a construction level or marble. If liquid flows toward the drain, you should be sure it flows smoothly. Rather than having the grease drain into my kitchen sink, I was forced to set the left wheels of the griddle on a scrap of plywood to get the grease to drain The cooking process. I include a bit of oil with many of the foods I cook (for example, eggs) even if I have a well-seasoned cooking surface. The griddle needs to be cleaned Cleaning the griddle is not hard for me thanks to the well-seasoned surface of my griddle. In general, it takes me 3 to 4 hours I'll give you 5 minutes. Youtube has a video that is helpful for those who are new to griddle cooking. Find a video on youtube entitled "Easy way to clean the Blackstone Griddle (Revised)". I use liquid oil in this video, while the guy in the video uses spray It seems the only complaint I'd have with the griddle is the same one mentioned in other reviews Despite its best efforts, Blackstone is still having trouble with grease drains. It happens from time to time that the grease flowing off will miss the cup and run If you stick a paperclip or a piece of wire in the hole down to the grease cup, the grease will run down the wire rather than flowing up under the grease gutter due to surface tension. Then, you can wrap a small piece of foil around the end of the drain to keep grease from getting into it.

Grease drain design is great except for the difficulty of cleaning
4/5

Despite the hot grease running down the leg from a poorly designed drainage system, this grill is amazing to use and would have received 5 stars if not for the issue. The steel tube was tig welded in, that's what Blackstone should have done from the beginning. I reemed the hole out to 1" and re-hemmed a new 1" hole.

Mongolian BBQ is perfect for this concoction There is a flaw, however
5/5

I had not bought a griddle in a long time, and I was highly disappointed in its quality. However, it does have one flaw--it does not work as intended The following is an explanation at the end Besides that, I would like to mention- I like the griddle a lot. It has been seasoned and used about five or six times since purchase, and I hear nothing but rave reviews about how great it is As an addition, I also picked up the folding shelves add-on, and I can't imagine how anybody could cook without them. In order for us to serve the meal, we must keep all the plates and fixings together. I'll now share the flaw with you The grease drip trough needs to be replaced, as well as the catch pan They are designed. Across the thickness of the griddle, there is a shallow trough connected to a drain on the right. A hole is drilled through the bottom of the trough, which extends out about 2". Also, there is a catch can that sits in In most cases, this works fine. However, when you have a lot of oil, grease, and the like, it can miss the catch can, and drip down the legs of the griddle, and make As a temporary fix, I bought an extension sold on this site by another seller, but it still does not solve the problem perfectly. A seller who is trying to solve this issue should tell Blackstone that the firm is experiencing problems.
