I like the way it works so far. I will be monitoring the flame broiler for rust and update if it becomes an issue . The only drawback is some rust on the broiler. It has come out perfectly every time I have cooked 10 or 12 meals and I have also done some light smoking. I highly recommend it.
The smoker/grill we finally purchased was the result of quite a bit of research. Although it took some time to get delivered and some effort to put together, it was well worth the wait. Despite this, we have smoked brisket as well as turkey breast and salmon, and have grilled steaks, hamburgers, and lobsters, and everything has turned out wonderfully. That there are two meat thermometers and that we can control how much smoke we produce is useful. I'm sure it will get used this summer since there's still a lot of summer left. Chicken wings and ribs are next on the menu!.
Despite having yet to hook up the propane side, I have had so much fun with the smoker side that I haven't connected the propane yet. There was a problem with the retaining bar for propane since it has a flattened piece by where the cotter pin goes, and that would have required a hole with a slot, but the frame had only a hole . . . not a There was a retaining bar that had to be threaded through this hole, so I Dremeled a slot at the top of it, repainted it, then spray painted over it so rust wouldn't have a foothold. Even with the slot problem, I would certainly buy another, though I don't think I'll outlive this grill since it has all sorts of spare parts and the barrels are so thick and heavy.
I am very pleased with this product. It delivers exactly what I had expected high quality and excellent performance.
I didn't mind it that much. When I turned it on, it appeared as though there was a problem with the LCD. This is the way it should look, right? You can see the image below.
searching long and hard, I finally decided to buy the Pit Boss combo smoker and grill. Despite having now had a year to think about it, I am still very pleased. With three burners, it's easy to adjust the temperature quickly thanks to the three burners. My biggest tip is to buy wood pellets that do not contain any binding agents, especially if you are cooking briskets. I usually trim off the flat end of the brisket and cook it separately, which is fine. Definitely a good value for the money.
