Questions & Answers

There are 20 lbs of pellets in the bag and they cost Do they last for a long time? How many pounds do common cuts of meat weigh on average? The brisket and the How about etc?

It is possible to get great pellets for less money. The competition blend I use is from Wal-Mart The cost for 40 pounds is $20 at the mart. There is no limit to what this grill can do. A few pies have been baked in it, and I've used it for baking a few times, but I rarely use high heat. In my opinion, the cost of the 40 pound bags is comparable to the In my opinion, the competition blend smokes better than a single wood variety. In the past few years I've tried half a dozen types of pellets, but I prefer the blended ones.

A thermometer on a smoker is supposed to be accurate, but how accurate is it? Are there any others who had problems with the power ?

My Maverick ET 733 has been comparing the readings from the thermometer to my own. We can't say which measurement is more accurate, but typically there is a 20 degree difference between the two. In addition, no matter which temperature gauge I monitor on my Camp Chef (Maverick or Camp Chef built in), the temperature fluctuation is absolutely horrific It ranges from 167 to 279 degrees if you set it to 225. As for the grill, I never open it. It was my intention to buy this grill so that it would provide a consistent temperature The distance is not even close to what I meant. That kind of inconsistent performance can be obtained with just about any cheap grill, so spending 600 bucks on this grill has been a real annoyance.

Do you know anyone who loves this one?

The answer is yes, it does. I love it!

What will happen if I sear a steak with this?

As much as 500 degrees Fahrenheit is reached on the grill. In order to get a true high temperature sear, you'll need to use the Sear Box accessory (model# PGSEAR) that attaches to the Camp Chef Pellet Grill. This is a propane-powered accessory that will get up to 900 degrees F for that perfect high temperature

You should beware! In November last year, I bought this grill
3/5

It has become a staple in my home. Suitable for smoking, grilling, or anything else you want to do. It is easy to I've even spoken highly of this grill in a magazine article in my hometown about home grilling based on the fact that I own a catering business. In the meantime, when I tried to start the machine about a month ago, I ran out of pellets. I added more pellets, switched it over to feed, and waited for it to My meal was all ready once they had finished talking, so I cranked it up and went inside to cook. My sink had a window above it, so I was able to see the mess above it There is a great deal A huge quantity of smoke was pouring from a spout near the drain bucket as I rushed outside. I opened the lid foolishly, igniting my arms and face when the entire grill exploded in flames. Having the unit under my soffit, I had to take action quickly. I had to pull the unit away from the house without burning myself. As the paint floated into the air, I watched it bubble and flake. wasn't the worst part.

Next morning, I called the company as soon as I could and took pictures of the damage. I was emailed a warranty claim form a week or so later after having been redirected to the warranty form. In spite of the fact that I know my unit was regularly cleaned and did not have a buildup of debris big enough for a fire to occur, the company maintains that it wouldn't have caught on fire as it did and the finish is not covered by This is the Utilise the grill in accordance with the directions. I was burned on my hair and skin when that turned into a burning fireball against my living room wall. A warranty was not available for this item. A rust box has now become a part of my life. I offer a story to encourage anyone considering buying a It is the fourth Camp Chef grill I own, but I will never purchase Thank you for being such a jerk to a fella,.

You seemed to be annoyed when asking for help from the customer service agents
5/5

Pellet grills have been a part of my life for many years, and of course, Traeger was one of the first to produce them. Since I began using Traegers I have gone through three of them, literally wore them out, and have only complained about the fact that sometimes there was not a lot of smoke, and sometimes there was none. P-glad you got help when you asked, but the customer service representatives seemed annoyed when you asked. I have a bad experience with my last Treager, #4. All manufacturers experience this I am not complaining, just my bad There are major problems with the ignition and control board, but my hardware store is always willing to help Nevertheless, I began to do research after the 4th entry. The reason I picked this grill was for the reviews, and for the convenience of dumping the ashes and the ability to easily change out Here is what I purchased from Amazon. It came in exactly as described. A toy like this is not suitable for children. I am impressed by the quality and the weight. The most important fact is that it smokes. As soon as it was lit, it smoked like a chief, and it A thermostat is a very simple device to use and it cleans up beautifully as well. Many different types of pellets have been tried by me. There is no difference in the work they do. You can purchase Tractor Supply products at Walmart and Traeger. After owning pellet grills for many years, I can honestly say that this one is the best I've ever had, and at such a fair price. Ultimately, it works well and is of the highest quality.

Outdoor cooking is made easy with this grill
5/5

Those who like smokey flavor and want to cook at home slowly will find this the perfect choice. My first pellet grill experience comes after reading and studying about them for a while. I wanted an outdoor cooking solution that would give me the ability to cook like a pro without having to bring my super trailer in. My experience with Camp Chef has been excellent since I finally made the decision. It is easy to control the temperature so the cooking process can be controlled to your convenience. A few days ago, I smoked some chicken and the red smoke ring was a 1/2" thick. This oven works like a convection oven, so there are no cool or hot spots, just consistent heat across the entire surface. Even if smoke does not pour from the pipe the wood flavor is still There is no other cooking system like it because it is designed for slow cooking. will still have a very good smoke flavor even if it doesn't get hot enough to sear thin cuts of meat like steaks. while it may not be the perfect solution for all your outdoor cooking needs, it is certainly a great option if you like to slow cook. There are some pros to hardwood for instance, it has a distinctive It is important to control the temperature. Two turkeys can be cooked on a large heated surface. It comes with a dump tray for ease of cleanup. It consists of a temperature probe. The power should be restored immediately upon power failure. Pro's It needs to be emptied from the hopper as soon as possible. Ashes are blown all over the bottom when using the grate (remove the grate or it is impossible)
They must be vacuumed out about every fourth or fifth time they are used. I would like to remove this heater rack since it is in the way. That might never be useful to me. In six months' time, here's a check-in. It gets 5 stars from me! I've cooked about 100 meals with it and I'm still enjoying it. It is still running in spite of rain, snow, and occasional nice weather. Grilling brats is on my agenda today. As it sits around rarely used, my weber grill will be disposed of soon. Quality pellets allow you to grill at temperatures as high as 450 degrees F. It is safe to use the camp chef grill cover, as it keeps the pellets dry in the hopper so that I don't even have to change out the It was necessary to seal the hopper handle around the rivets to keep the rain from getting in, but otherwise it is a very sturdy product. As you can see, the picture creates a lot of smoke. One year on from my purchase, and I am still very pleased. However, I'm not interested in professional barbecue competitions, but my brisket is better than many of the famous BBQ restaurants in Missouri, Tennessee and Texas I've tried. This isn't just my opinion as many of my friends agree with me and have encouraged me to enter some local contests. My rig is still the best value for the dollar when it comes to pellet grills. I've been shopping for a larger rig, but I haven't found a better option. The BTT50S is a great choice if you want a pellet grill at an entry level price. If you have read reviews that say that the product leaks smoke or doesn't seal well, then do not be discouraged by it. Take a look at the picture that I attached to my review and you can see for yourself that it does, but isn't it silly to buy a product Usually, while you are at a BBQ competition, you'll see the smoke coming from a lot of their smokers. This review may be of some help, but I can honestly say that I am satisfied with my purchase and would purchase it again if given the opportunity. We have been going for two years now. Since I purchased this cooker two years ago, I have used it at least once a week. It recently had a few issues with going out and I was wondering if it had a serious problem. In my opinion, considering the amount of time I spend with it, it should have worn out already. As a result, I found the following. Due to the accumulation of carbon on the temp probe, the grill did not give accurate temperature My suspicions about the temperature probe were confirmed after checking it with an external one and I found it was off by more than 50 degrees. In your opinion, it is reasonable to assume that the grill controller just shut it off due to the readings being off enough? It only takes 30 seconds with steel wool to get back to work. A new home is being sought for the old camp chef. In two instances high winds blew it off the patio in the thick of rain or snow. Even with a few dents and scratches, however, it still works like a charm. Until my son drives in from North Carolina this weekend to pick it up, it is on my hands. It has been replaced by a yoder ys-270 In the event that the yoder is needed, it is heavier and produces more BTU. It is still easier to clean the camp chef, but it does cook a good I just wanted to update you As of 07/2019, the grill is still working well after 5 years. I gave it to my son and his family, who still enjoy The weather and time test have also been passed, so I guess it has also passed.

A fantastic pellet grill
5/5

I am totally in love with it. Before I bought the camp chef dlx, I did a lot of research. There are features that it offers that other pellet grills do not have, and the two most important ones to me are the ash catcher and the hopper that can be cleaned. This allows me to change the flavor of wood pellets so quickly and easily. Thanks to camp chef for the vacuum. The only way to make them come out on other grills is this method. I've made eight racks of ribs (I've had it just 3 days), 3 of which are in the oven as I type this. Chicken is divided into two whole pieces. The Jerky show will take place Despite the breezy weather we have at the moment , the temperature remains constant. The 10-minute mark or less The range of temperatures is roughly 12 degrees. I think it took me about 30 minutes to assemble. I had watched a video on how to assemble the product before it arrived, so it gave me an advantage. It is fairly straightforward to follow the instructions. I can't think of anything negative to say about this pellet grill in case you plan to buy. There won't be any disappointments in store for you.
