The Generator Extension Cord is exactly what I was looking for, so I'm glad I took the step. The sun and heat are a big concern for us since we live in the desert. Though we haven't had it out for hours in over 100 degree temperatures yet, we have had it out in high temperatures and it worked as advertised. It is very strong and durable, and for a great price. We definitely recommend it.
We returned it and ordered another one as we couldn't see on the picture on this site that a prong sticks out from the center on the end that goes into the RV, and the one we received had no prong hole, so it was useless. In spite of that, this is a great buy for this size of shire power and it's pretty.
It is a great 50 amp cord for use with your generator. 90 percent of what you need to do can usually be accomplished in 30 feet. electrical connections will be tested for wear and tear on the plug ends (how well the connections stay in place). Moreover, the strap that comes with the cord, to keep it wound up in place, is too small and too lightweight to keep this huge cord in place. As a result, the strap cannot be used. You will have to carry a very heavy cord, weighing on average 50 pounds Overall, even though the price was a bit steep, I found that the value was very good. Sadly, the carry strap is useless so I took off a star.
My first review was 1 star because I thought that the female plug was defective because I could not get it to fit properly in my electrical The cord from a friend fit easily into the hole. I used this to connect my Firman T07571 Tri Fuel Generator mounted to the side of my home to my inlet. It runs at 7500W working and 9400W peak. The price here is significantly less than I was able to find elsewhere for an excellent power cord. The short extension cord wasn't a concern for me as the generator is located on my raised outside deck, away from windows and doors.
