Questions & Answers

Can you tell me how thick the cord is?

I was wondering what size your cord would be. The cord is 16 mm in diameter. Approximately 5mm thick. In a nutshell,

There is a label for L14- on this item In these two words 30 and 5 The connectors are 30 in number. Would you mind telling me which is the case?

As shown in the picture, the cord is A 30-foot AMP cable with four prongs at one end and a four-slot socket at the This generator and receptacle inlet fit perfectly next to my electric meter, which is a 220V generator.

Is this cord made in the U.S.?

Originally made in China, this cord is now available in the U.S.

It does not use the ground wire past the fuse box, so why would there be a 4-wire cable?

The ground rod should be into the ground if you live in California. The white and the green are attached to the grounding bar on the electrical panel. Add a double 30amp breaker to the Your panel should have an external plug wired directly to it.

The cord is strong and durable

There's no question! As you read this, keep these things in mind There is a 100% electric house I own in the size of 2100 square feet. The grade is a 4 My house has a Carrier inverter heat pump/AC unit, LED lighting throughout, a well pump, a Whirlpool inverter refrigerator, a 3 cu ft chest freezer and a small beer fridge, and a 30 gallon As is my custom these days, I bought this last week but haven't had a chance to use it to its full capabilities until As of tonight, I did that during a power outage following a storm that knocked out power for several hours. Prior to that, I had installed a 60 Amp Temporary Power Inlet T030N from GE As a result, I used this cord as the connector and hooked it up to my Champion 7k/8750 peak (100520) inverter generator of which most of my home was operated for 3 hours without issue (air conditioner at third stage, fridge, freezer, ALL lights). With my previous 15kw generator and 50amp power cord, I could run everything listed at star of the review, with This was a different scenario as I had to decrease the size of my generator after switching to LED lighting and inverter heat pumps. It was necessary to push things further, so I turned off the air conditioner and ran the heater and well simultaneously. In this case, I wish that you would work together as I found it unbearable not to be able to take a hot shower if the power was out for several days (Has happened to me before living in a hurricane area! )I ran the well and water heater together tonight and they ran at 25amps every leg (30+ surge when the well started). Once it had been running for a while, I was able to get I noticed that even after disconnecting the cable, the male pins were still cool, which means there was not much resistance on the male end (resistance=heat buildup As a result, it had true molded pluses on both ends. I pushed it to the limit before the generator reached its overload point and it performed as I would expect. If I have a power outage in the near future, I will purchase it as it is good quality and will power my house!.

A good value for the money
4/5

It was purchased after a storm to get the generator out of the house when there is no power. I don't have a transfer switch to run our well pump, but I need one for the house circuits. An L14- has been put in There is a 30 connector in the electrical line to the pump near the electrical box in the basement and this can be disconnected from the house and then connected This is the only way we are able to get water during a long power outage (the last one lasted 24+ hours). This cord is a great price considering how long it is and the cord organizer it comes with. There does not seem to be any problem This is a really well-made and flexible product. I am wondering what its performance will be like after a few years of relatively light use. Compared to my neighbor's Ridgid cord, it should be okay. We'll see what happens as time progresses, and I will update the review as necessary.

Developing an honest opinion is a paid customer's responsibility
5/5

The product review by Sanpete (2/2/19) impressed me enough to make me buy this cord even though I am not familiar with the ETL ratings. The ratings were compared to other standards more familiar to him to ensure they were accurate. It consists of ANSI and ANSI Sanpete [Quoting UL] (This is ANSI/UL I agree)[/quote]. In addition to being quite heavy, the cord is certainly stout enough to support the wattage it claims, and it would be advisable to balance those weights on the legs of the 30Amp cord. There can be no doubt about the performance level of this product. Using this cord and another I tested my generator and charger under a minimal load for both cords to be sure that they would work together Neither of the 30Amp cords was failing on either leg of the system. Cords that can handle 50 Amps will follow soon.

I ordered this cable in conjunction with our power switch through the wall and it is excellent quality and a better price than we expected
5/5

Upon discovering that it was not compatible with our generator, did not use it. In fact, I was going to return it because the male end is 4 prongs, and we needed a TT-style end A quick fix was to get a locking AC Works adapter for the generator side. Problem solved, and it was also much cheaper than trying to make a custom cord. This cord is heavy, sturdy and comes with a good storage strip as well. The price for 20' of cord is very reasonable. I would definitely recommend it.

When the weather is cold, he is very flexible
5/5

When the weather was cold, the cord material was supple and flexible. This cord did not exhibit any memory even after being packed in a small box. It relaxed easily after being unwound and I tested it at about 40°F outside, it was intended to connect a portable generator to a generator inlet plug on the This long cord will allow the generator to be located around the corner from the inlet plug in a more convenient location. If you expect to use the accessory cord holder, you may need to trim the back locking tab with a razor blade. The cord holder's mold die has to be adjusted, as the locking tab flairs too wide at the back.

At a good price, this cord is great
5/5

My experience with this cord has been excellent. The quality is excellent, and it provides great value. The power cable has been able to travel from my generator to my house with no problems. It looks cool, and I have plenty of length in case I have to relocate There is an unbelievable cost for this cord, some big retailers want twice the price for a If you're looking for a quality product, I highly recommend this one.

The connection is fine, but the software does not work
5/5

Everything works fine, but there seems to be a little looseness in the connection. The connection isn't so good since there's a clear gap when the cord is plugged in. So the cord might be weather resistant, but the connection isn't as robust. It is a very good cord in terms of construction. As a rule, that should be the case with this kind of thing.

The program works as expected
5/5

The hurricane Laura provided the perfect opportunity to use this. Running a generator for more than a week right in front of my closed garage door and running the cable under it with the generator running was simply too much noise for me to put up with. I used this 40 foot cord to move my generator far away from my home while still having enough length for the generator I had no problems, and I got a better deal than I could get at the.
