Questions & Answers

This is large enough to power a few days or a week's worth of electricity for a small house (I have little or no knowledge of electricity or I appreciate it. ?

A computer can only run a part of your The full-service model is typical at our company A small freezer, refrigerator, lights, and a router are all used in our home. In the past, this generator has powered our system for 48 hours, but most of our outages last 8 to 10 hours There will be a 12-hour break in the middle. Unit 2 is the one I run The frequency varies depending on the season. To reach my critical equipment, I run drop cords from the unit. This vehicle starts quickly, runs well, and under our load runs for more than eight hours. It takes about 10 minutes for me to roll it out, start it, and make sure everything is plugged in when the power goes out. My experience with this product has been nothing but positive, and I would absolutely buy it

Can you tell me how loud this generator is? This item is not listed on the website. I appreciate it. ?

With the XP4850EH, it is very quiet, compared to other job site generators that I have used in the past. I am measuring 69 dB's. A highlight of the engine is that it comes with an aluminum fan with a 10,000 rpm rating, which is much better than most. Plastic fans have a rotation speed of 6000 rpm and most have a metal blade. It is the #1 engine for go carts, having 212cc and 7hp. This engine is rated as a better value than a Honda of similar size. It is a higher quality engine than the Honda. If maintained properly, this engine should last many years of reliable use. These engines are Honda clones. Among the pack, the Duromax is at the top.

When an electrical current is run through either a 120V plug or a 30 amp adapter plug and put into a single outlet in the house, is there a limit to the amount of power you can draw ?

I will tell you what the secret is. So no one can sue me, I'll phrase it as what I did. During my time at the apartment, my laundry room had a dryer connected to In order to connect my generator's 240VAC to my dryer, I attached a dryer receptacle to it. Do not attempt this if you do not know electrical wiring and/or are not able to comply with technical instructions. (If your degree is in the humanities, I'm speaking to you) Leave it to an electrician. My main breaker was turned off so I could isolate the house, then I plugged the generator into the dryer outlet to start it. It was now possible to control max power in the house via that 30amp fuse. The heater was only turned on to heat the water and we did not want to run the furnace, microwave or coffee maker while showering. I thought this worked pretty well.

When I put the oil in, how much should I put. My unit was delivered, but there were no instructions on how to fill the oil for the first time. Please accept my thanks, whoever you are. ?

The recipe needs about 20 ounces of oil or two thirds of a qt. We hope you will take advantage of the funnel provided. The ground is still easy to overfill and drip so make sure you fill in a spot that you can clean up later. As well, I put the date on the oil bottle and keep it with the parts for my genny. I am amazed at how quickly Used synthetic oil with a low viscosity in cold weather as well. Hope you have a great time!

Deceptive representations are made in the warranty
3/5

A great generator does its job when it does. My intention was to only use it on propane, but that wasn't the case, and I ended up buying it because of its dual fuel capability. The engine began turning over after the first couple of times, but then suddenly stopped. It smelt like propane and I heard it moving. I could see the vapors coming out of the air filter, and I could hear it moving as well. The fact that I saw it had a 3 year warranty when I bought it boosted my confidence that it would all work out in the end. It took 3 days for the problem to be understood) and explained the issue. I followed their instructions on troubleshooting, and after some trial and error, they concluded it was the regulator that needed to be upgraded. Upon receiving my email, they informed me that only the parts were under warranty, and that I would be responsible for paying for the parts to be shipped to me. They asked me to call to make arrangements. mechanic myself, my immediate concern was that the engine was not starting. Is this supposed to be replaced by me? In addition to paying for the shipping (and they did), I was amazed that a warranty company expected me to pay for the shipping. As I was contacting the warranty company, I did some research online to verify that the warranty was The answer is yes. I was more dismayed to see that when I looked on THEIR web site, the very first review of this generator stated This is a generator I purchased There is no purpose in propane. The hissing sound of propane can be heard coming from the carburetor or from the pressure release valve. As well as vapors, you can see them emerging from the hole. As it turns out, this was the exact problem I had. My primary concern is customer service, so I call and talk to him about everything. A script has been written for him. From his end, he conducted the conversation in a disingenuously overzealous manner Although they are cheerful, they appear disinterested and uncaring. It would surprise me if more than ten words were paired up that didn't come The man said "Now unfortunately it appears that the part is on backorder, and we won't be able to ship it until October 3rd (it was the end of August)"" I said "Wait until then. ". In what way? It's over 30 days away, so for the shipping charge to be refunded we're going to have to pay (the script's less confrontational term for "charge") today. " Otherwise when it goes beyond 30 days without being paid for, the system will not refund Backorders make me nervous, especially if they last more than a week or two, because in my experience they can also mean "we do not know when it will be here, but if it won't be as we had hoped" or something along those lines. This was such a disappointing experience, and I have paid the fee, so we will see what happens. Although the shipping costs weren't too much, I find it a bit unfair to have to cover my faulty part. My next purchase of Duromax will not be a Duromax. They are not reliable and they do not support you.

It was a mistake to purchase
3/5

As residents of a hurricane-prone state, we are always prepared for disasters. Our power was out for a long time after Hurricane Irma struck in September 2017 we ordered a Duramax 3850 dual fuel generator. On time and without incident, the generator was up and running. comforting to know that we were well prepared in the event of another hurricane. Throughout the remainder of hurricane season, neither the generator nor the cell phone was used. During the summer of 2018 after spending the winter inside the garage (and periodically starting the generator), we turned the gas on and tried to start the generator. I called the help line in the manual and spoke to a member of the "Technical Support Team". A technician diagnosed the problem and informed me that the part was still under warranty. In June, I ordered the part, but was told it would take until July 27 to arrive. The part was on its way on July 26. When I called on July 26 to check, I was told that it was now "back ordered" until late September. If the parts are not available, there is no point to a warranty! It is worthless to use a generator that has never been used and that comes with a worthless warranty. Furthermore, Duramax has never returned my calls as promised, despite the numerous calls I have made to them over the years. Having purchased this generator, we regret our decision!.

There Is No Way I Could Do A friend of mine warned me not to purchase this because they said "don't buy it!"
5/5

That's a point that I do not agree with. It gets around 200 hours of runtime a year as I've had my 4400E for 3 years. Here in the boonies, trees can always be said to "contact their facilities" as the power company says. All of its functions are reliable, and I think it's awesome that it starts with a key. As a result, it has required hardly any A periodic check and replacement of oil is all that's needed (as recommended). You don't coddle it All types of weather cause it to be used and abused. To those people who gave it one star because it arrived with shipping damage I am sorry but I think that is absurd. Your reviews are meant to be about the product. Rather than marking the shipping problem down, you can mark it down So your product review rankings are extremely unfair since seller ratings are for that purpose.
