The line was buried about an inch into the ground, since if it are buried deeper, the holes where water comes from may be blocked up.

My experience is that it works very well in very warm temperatures. I have been using it for two summers now, and it hasn't let me down. In the case of any bend greater than a 6 o'clock there will be kinking With an 8 inch radius, this mat usually tends to stay put and not move.
