Questions & Answers
The dome is about 5 inches tall and fits perfectly over the bottom black tray.
Of course.
They don't, as I've already asked via email. I adore these trays and would like to order more, but I do not require domes.
The humidity dome is not required if the plants are already tall. To keep tender seeds from drying out, this is done. I don't use the top at all because it's too humid where I live.

Today was my first day on the job. It's just the right size for me. Thank you for sharing the measurements with us. I bought a store display rack with the intention of using it to hold my herbs in my kitchen window next winter, but the more I looked at it, the more I realized it could be used as a salad garden this year. It was only a matter of getting the right trays. They arrived today and fit perfectly, with a layer of gravel on the bottom, drain holes drilled, potting soil, and a French mix lettice, spinach, and radishes. Everything is now in the hands of the seeds. The domes with vents are sturdy and made of good quality plastic. I am looking forward to it.
I was hoping to find a 10x20 at first. 75 domes to fit my mat, but most of those are around $7-$10 each. Despite being smaller, this set appeared to be a better value at 12 pieces (Dome and tray sold separately). The size, on the other hand, is far more practical than I anticipated. It fits the small starter cell packs perfectly, as you can see in the photos, and each dome can hold a lot of plants. The trays are made of thick, sturdy plastic, but the dome is a little thinner than some. Even with that said, I believe they will last a long time if care is taken when lifting them off. br>br>I use these to propagate adenium seeds and fittonia cuttings. These domes are exactly what I'm looking for, and they're a lot less expensive than most domes.
Raising seedlings under grow lights is a good idea. This product outperforms the cheaper seedling trays/domes I've purchased in the past! The cheaper trays I've purchased in the past would crack and leak water. These trays/domes are pricey for me, but they are well worth it. The domes are higher than the others, allowing for more time for growth beneath them. Dome tops have a ventilation area to deal with humidity problems and let in air as needed. For me, it was an excellent purchase.
I'm only using these to grow my cactus seedlings, so don't expect anything too substantial. I have around 40 different varieties, and this works great for what I'm trying to accomplish. br>br>Previously, I was using Target-purchased generic storage bins, but the plastic top was too "foggy," preventing indirect light from reaching the level that these tiny cactus seedlings require. br>br>These little trays have completely captured my heart. The tops are very comfortable to wear, and I believe the quality is excellent for the price; I would highly recommend them. I'm going to buy some more if my wife permits it! (She thinks my cactus obsession is out of hand, but I didn't choose the cactus life; it chose me. ).
These were delivered promptly and in excellent condition. They aren't as flimsy as some of the others. For someone like me, the size is ideal. I'm growing seedlings indoors and need to move the trays from one location to another. Because I am partially disabled, this smaller size suits me better than the larger sizes, which would be more difficult, if not impossible, to wear. The higher domes appeal to me as well. The 2- inch domes are too small and inconvenient to use. Good price for a good product.
If that helps, they say they hold six 6 packs, but they are the smaller 6 packs, not the larger ones. Anyway. They're great, and I'm going to order some more for my spring plantings.
Exactly as stated. Even with plants loaded, it's easy to move. Trays with a good amount of weight to them. Allows for more efficient and flexible trays rearrangement under grow lights and on greenhouse shelves than the awkward/cheap 10x20 trays. I've returned to the store to purchase some more.
What an attractive set of humidity dome-equipped trays. It's clear that they paid close attention to the smallest of details. You get those dials on top to adjust humidity, as well as strong plastic and an airtight seal. Genius.
