The new growth is even nicer than it was when I had the plants in In addition to the Hoyas that live permanently under the bulb, I've also got a Haworthia starter plant and a Wandering Jew starter plant sheltering inside temporarily, and all seem happy living in that location. This bulb keeps working so well that I bought another one for the other side of my workspace, for some more hoyas, a begonia, jade plant, and ric rac cactus (also only temporarily indoors), and these also appear to be doing My bulbs are about 8 to 10 years old The pots are 14 inches above the plants, and they are powered by a timer so they run for 15 hours a day. Despite the plants' apparent enjoyment of these bulbs, I am not convinced that they are full spectrum. Neither the lenses nor the housings are made of glass, but are entirely made of plastic. Growing under full spectrum grow lights includes UV light, and UV light can erode That means either they don't have UV diodes and therefore aren't true full spectrum, or they do, but the plastic bulb lenses are going to discolor and deteriorate over time. As of right now, all the flaps on the bulbs are pointed straight down, but I like that they are adjustable so that if I ever hang some plants on the wall next to the bulbs, I can adjust the flaps to direct the light to the plants. In addition, the bulbs are very bright and provide nice, clean shade, and work great as task lighting above my workspace (and since I presume they don't contain UV light, I'm not overly concerned about working in them for extended amounts of time). Though, I think I might make some sort of decorative lamp shade to hide the bulbs from view if they seem so garish.
As soon as I saw how small the light was, I was worried. But when I plugged it in, I was amazed! I was surprised to find it so bright and that it covered an expansive area. placed mine on a timer and I will update this review as I learn more.
With this grow light, I was able to revive dying plants. It uses less energy and the timer is accurate. Buying it and trying it for yourself is the best thing to do.
Originally bought this bulb to replace an ikea bulb that was way too bright, but this is such a better replacement for family room lighting with a lot of large plants and trees. Its cast is great without being overly bright.
There is a lot of light. Definitely going to buy more based on the looks and the way it works.
