The process of starting my vegetable plants from seed is fairly new to me. It was a waste of time and resources to grow plants with only a window, as I got scrawny, leggy plants that were impossible to grow. In the last year, I purchased a clip on set of two very bright lights and even though they were quite bright, they did not illuminate However, I have learned that a good grow light is a must. This year I found the following Having decided to set up in an extra bedroom with a 35-inch by 15-inch bookcase, I had roughly 35 square feet to work with. The results I've gotten with only one of the two in the set have been amazing. I could've probably put off starting for another two weeks after I saw how fast my plants grew this year! My tomato plants got taller and I felt they might be getting too much light, so I cut back to 12 hours of light and raised the mounting shelf a few pegs and they're doing just fine. Lights came with hardware to attach to chain or with clips to attach to a shelf board. The lights are very bright, and the hardware came with tools to install them. There's nothing hot about this. Getting lemons squeezy is as easy as peasy - I love the sun's rays so much that my babies (plants) love it too. The weather in Upstate NY isn't great. I think so. A key to this is the lighting. The product is easy to hang and looks good from an aesthetic standpoint. There is one major benefit of having them running up to 18 hours a day and still not seeing my power bill increase. I have been using these grow lights for a month to get a head start on this year's farmer's market. I'm so impressed! I have finally found a grow light that is bright. It is excellent. Not only is the light bright enough to start vegetables inside, it is also low priced, a feature I've been searching for.
