Dewitt trowels are okay in this case. thought I would get better quality for the price, considering that the tools looked black in the pictures and are described as FORGED, so I assumed the trowel wood was built from However, this tool is extremely light weight, the metal is gray and it does not seem to have any special features. There was a sense that this was going to be an heirloom piece The type you can pass down from one generation to the next! In addition to the two tools I purchased, I am waiting for the arrival of the other two. As they are a bit more expensive than this one, I hope they are more impressive than this The price for a 4-piece garden tool set will probably exceed $100 when all these items are added together! Even though it would cost money, I'd like to buy some leather straps so that each tool could hang from the strap. It should be included in the price that they charge that the leather strap is already attached! My disappointment is a bit overwhelming, but I intend to look at the entire set when it is complete.

It would be great if DeWit made a narrow trowel like this with a sharp It would be better if it were narrower at the The more clay and rocks I dig in soil, the more I use it for digging weeds and getting roots out of the ground. The point is sharp enough that I haven't bent it, but I may bend it if it were more bent, but it is strong enough that I haven't bent it yet. It's great to have a wider and longer shovel, but bending the stem between the blade and the shovel can be quite dangerous. I have a couple of DeWit's wider trowels, though. It must be noted that no other garden trowel has been able to stand up to the abuse I have put it through, this one has, and even the wider ones take more abuse than any other trowel I have used. It had a blunt end, so I am trying to make it sharper by grinding the end. Good so far, a step in the right direction.

I have never found a weeding tool as versatile and effective as this one. In my yard I have a beautiful elm that's two lots down from me and makes around 100 starts every year with its seeds. Those who gain a good bit of growth in a year or two should displace themselves with this type. Also, it has a rounded edge that allows it to turn over 7" of soil without tearing apart roots, bulbs, and stolons in the Everlasting War Against Spiderwort.

Planting small bulbs has never been easier with this tool. This is ideal for planting Snowdrops, Crocuses, Cyclamen and other bulbs and plants of the same size. I can plant deep or shallow depending on what my needs are with this tool. Despite its robustness, it is not easily damaged by rocky soil. For this job, it is much better than a standard trowel because it is so long! Getting out a large shovel for 1 plant doesn't disturb other plants around it, and it won't disturb the rest of them. Other than this, I own two DeWitt trowels that both meet or exceed my I was sick of replacing cheap bendable trowels, so I bought these. They are superbly made. Despite their sharp edges and solid feel, these are the last trowels I will buy, and I recommend them to anyone looking for a replacement. The price was well worth it!.
