Questions & Answers

Is it a Chinese product?

It's not made in the United States; it's made in Mexico. It's a dream to use, and it makes weeding a breeze. It's one of my favorite tools.

How tall is the clawed part and how wide is it?

This is the best weeder - it's 6 inches deep and 6 inches wide. It's well-made and performs admirably. With the Yard Butler, weeding is quick and easy.

Is it possible to use this to get rid of moss on a lawn?

No, it's designed to dig deeper into the lawn to find weed roots. Moss accumulates on the top, necessitating the use of an additional rake.

What is the top (horizontal) handle's measurement (length)?

The distance between the handle and the "U" is 46 inches. The bar with twists is 6 inches away from the U's junction.

This is a good size for a small person
5/5

For me, it's perfect. I'm 76 years old, 4' 10" tall, and weigh 85 pounds, so I needed something sturdy, and this fit the bill. It's something I'd strongly recommend to anyone who does light, small-space gardening. I had tried two others, but they were simply too much for me. This one gets the job done without going overboard. power me. It's wonderful that I came across it.

It accomplishes the task at hand
5/5

This little tiller makes me happy. It's well-made, but why would you buy it to till hard ground that has never been tilled before? It clearly states that it is for raised beds and flower boxes in the description. Consider how much power and effort it takes to push or pull a heavy-duty gas tiller to break new ground, then compare that to this. I don't understand the negative reviews based on the fact that it's not great at something it, or common sense, never claimed it should be good at. In the beginning, I rented a real gas-powered tiller to break ground and till my vegetable garden bed (a few years ago). Then, once that's out of the way, I use this every year to re-evaluate my priorities. The soil must be broken up and loosened. It's still a bit of a workout because the ground compacts during the winter, but it's still a great option for this. It's a lot less work than renting and transporting a tiller each year. And I've discovered that not deep tilling every year is much better. That just throws off the entire underground balance/ecosystem, chopping up all of the big fat worms. This tool loosens, turns, and works the soil as much as you want it to be loosening, turning, and working. It appeals to me. Probably, the suggestions that the handles could be more ergonomic or efficient have some merit - Better-designed handles would almost certainly help to maximize the amount of effort required to plunge and twist, and yes, blisters do occur. But the footplate is fantastic, and the twisted tines are extremely useful. Because you're stepping down into the ground, which compacts the dirt before you twist, it can clump in wet ground; however, I've found that stepping, tilting, and twisting reduces clumping. I usually just kick it loose when it's clumped together - I didn't have to stoop to un-stack anything. clumping on a regular basis.

This product breaks up dirt with a simple twist, and I love how simple it is to break up old, compacted soil with it
5/5

The motorized tiller from Home Depot couldn't get through the tough soil. It also assisted me in breaking up some of the weeds that had remained after I had removed them. It also assisted me in breaking up a separate small plot of bermuda grass (after soaking the area for a few days with water). This is what I used to get my soil ready for grass seed. It was dry, compacted inland dirt from southern California; it took a while due to the size of the yard, but after a good rain, every twist was simple. I dismantled it and softened it. Then, with this tiller, I mixed in some good organic top soil with the native soil. My lawn was then seeded. The lawn cane is in excellent condition. This product has a good build quality.

Love it! The Garden Claw has been my go-to tool for years
5/5

However, the item I had on my watch list sold out just as I was about to place my order. As a result, I placed an order for this instead. I stood it up when I got it, and it was the perfect height for me (I'm 5'6in tall). Due to other obligations, I couldn't use it for a few days. However, over the previous five years, we had allowed our flowerbeds to become overgrown. We decided to reinstall them this year. So I went outside and began by planting a Knockout rose that my husband had purchased for me. I twisted it in the ground and it pulled up everything underneath it as well as to each side; I haven't had any problems with the handle grips sliding off like others have. They've stayed put, and I've had a lot of practice with them. Today, in just a few hours, I was able to clear out a large section of the flowerbeds; this thing is much better than the Garden Claw. Excellent value for money and a fantastic tool!.

One piece of advice for avoiding prongs that have bent
5/5

Although this is a good product, be aware that if used on very hard ground (in my case, a gravel driveway), the prongs will bend. It's tempting to throw your weight on the foot rest - I already bent mine a little but quickly made an adjustment, so take this advice into consideration. That's how I went about it. Instead, begin by loosening some of the soil with your arms. Progress can be made by twisting it firmly on the ground rather than driving it deeper into the ground - This is accomplished through the twisting action. It's safe to use the foot rest to further loosen the ground after you've loosen it up a little. When used correctly, it is fantastic.

It's a fantastic product, and here are some pointers on how to use it: It took an hour to clean out old, dry grass in a yard that would have taken at least four hours if it hadn't been for it
5/5

br>br>How did it work with people of different heights? People 5 found it to be very useful. 3 to 5. At 6. There was not a single person who was too tall for it. I had to stoop because I couldn't stand up straight. br>br>Here are a few pointers on how to use it:
1. If the soil is compacted, don't go all the way down with the tool at first (it will be difficult to twist). Do it in stages: go down, twist, increase depth, twist again, and so on. br>2. If the soil is too compacted, you can also: Wait 10 minutes after watering the soil, or wait until it rains a day or two.
3. Gloves are recommended by several reviewers.

For my small garden, this is a very useful tool
4/5

This is the first time I've used it, and I'm very impressed. It's been difficult for me to turn over the soil in my small densely planted garden bed. It was a lot easier with the Yard Butler, and it was also a lot of fun. I loosened up the entire bed and then applied compost on top, working it in with the YB. Because the tines are only 4" or 5" long, you'll have to do a little more work if you want to loosen the soil deeper, but for me, this is a lot better than what I was doing before. Note: We don't have clay soil, so it would be a much more difficult task, but I believe this tool would still be useful. The YB appears to be very sturdy and solid, and it's a fantastic value at $25. This purchase has made me very happy. I'm only deducting a star because it came with a California lead warning and instructions to wash your hands after using it.
