Questions & Answers

What is the height of this object?

It stands 26 inches tall with a 22-inch opening. It's been extremely helpful to me. I'm very pleased with it.

I'm unloading ten to fifteen grocery bags from Walmart and Shoprite. Is it possible to transport this bag from my van to my front door using sm? Do you have a hand truck?

Sure. It'll be enough to keep them occupied - I'm not sure how heavy all those groceries are, but the bottom is made of plastic, and I'm not sure how well it's attached to the sides. It's tough, but I only use it for yard waste, such as cuttings, trimmings, and leaves - There should be nothing too heavy. Soda, water bottles, and a large number of canned goods could add up to a significant amount of weight. Using a hand truck would be beneficial if the weight was distributed evenly across the bottom and the side that rests against the handle uprights. To keep it steady on the small base of a hand truck, you'd have to grip it tightly. I hope this has been of assistance.

Is it capable of holding liquid?

It is not capable of containing liquid. It's made to allow for easy breathing. The bottom is pierced with holes.

Is it too big to fit a standard 30 gallon trash bag inside?

Yes, a 30 gallon bag will not fit around it, but a 42 gallon bag will.

These days, Toro is making some really flimsy ones! In March 2013, I ordered two of these from Amazon, both of which were the same Toro item 29210
3/5

They've been fantastic, but I'm still missing two. I use four of them on a regular basis to collect all of the yard and garden debris that I collect. I had purchased two Fiskars containers from Amazon at the same time, but they didn't hold up as well as the Toro, so I had to leave the Fiskars containers at the dump on my last trip. It was essentially a test to see which one would last the longest, and I was very pleased with the Toro, so I decided to re-use it. This time around, get the Toro spring buckets. The issue is as follows: br>br> These are made in China, as are so many other things these days. The manufacturer-supplier relationship has been strained in recent years. Toro- decided to cut costs by using less expensive materials. The two I received this week are in no way comparable to the first two I purchased in 2013. To say that I'm "re-inventing myself" is an understatement. It's ridiculous to say "ordered the same thing. " The containers' walls, as well as the twill tape casing that covers the spring wire and the stitching, are all flimsy. Don't even begin to think about it. I'm a seamstress, so I can tell if something isn't stitched properly from a mile away. I'm betting the stitching on these won't hold up until spring. In fact, the first time I used one of the containers, I filled it with leaves and yard debris, and when I picked it up by the handles, I could hear an audible "rrriiiippp" of stitches coming out of the chute! Toro, take it easy on me. I'll never buy them again, and I can't recommend them to anyone in good conscience. I'd also bet that the two spring buckets I bought in March 2013 and used for 2-years-ago will come in handy again. I've had it for about a year and a half, and it's still going strong, outlasting the two new ones I just bought. A two-year limited warranty is stated on the manufacturer's packaging. You can bet I'll keep that information on hand in case I need to file a claim. not "if"- This is something I have to do.

Only lasts a year or two
3/5

I bought two of these, the first of which lasted about 5 years despite one of the latch straps coming undone; however, the bottom of the bucket eventually separated from the bucket as the stitching thread rotted and tore. The stitching on the bottom of the second bucket tore out after about a year and a half of light use, but not enough to be an issue. After another year of light use, the stitching on the bottom tore out around half of the bottom, rendering the bucket useless. The quality has deteriorated over time, and you can hear things rip when you pick up a half-full bucket of grass to dump. Given its poor durability and the need to replace it within one to two years, I'm looking for something higher quality at the same or lower cost. This item should go for less than half the current price.

Only for light duty use
3/5

The size is convenient, but it isn't very long-lasting. br>br>It's the perfect size, height, and volume. Even as it fills up, it doesn't become too heavy to move around. It's big enough for a shovel full of leaves or yard waste to be tossed in without having to aim carefully. Low enough to fill even while seated on the ground, but large enough to avoid having to empty it into the main collection bin on a regular basis. I usually weed or prune for 20-30 minutes at a time. It will fill up in 30 minutes. When it's heavy, it can be difficult to dump because the soft sides prevent it from being tipped onto the bin's lip. It is your responsibility to pick it up and empty it. This is made possible by the loop handles at the top and bottom. br>br>Within a few months of being put into service, one of the buckles that keeps it compressed came unstitched and vanished. The collapsible feature became effectively useless as a result of this, as it would no longer stay that way unless it was pressed against something heavy. Collapsing it and throwing it in the back of the truck was no longer convenient. br>br>I've never had a stick rip the fabric, but I always make sure to cut them shorter than the diameter before inserting them. I wouldn't expect a lot of resistance to being pierced by a sharp end because it's a fabric bucket. Leaves, weeds, and small pruned twigs are the best candidates for this treatment. br>br>I've noticed that the fabric covering the internal coil spring has worn through in the last few months, exposing about 4 inches of spring at the bottom end. This indicates that the spring is now attempting to escape and is exerting direct stress on the fabric at the point where it protrudes. Only total failure will bring this process to an end. Only the length of time remains to be seen. br>br>The decision to buy it will be based on the cost/durability ratio. It's great if you're okay with having to repair or replace it once a year. You'll probably be disappointed if you expect it to be a long-term tool.

Toro has taken what was once an excellent and nearly indestructible product and made it cheap and practically useless except for relatively light yard clean-ups in an attempt to save manufacturing dollars
3/5

up work. I also had one of their "original" yard buckets for over ten years (as did another reviewer). I put it to good use cleaning up the yard, the garden, and the leaves. ups, and it worked flawlessly until the internal spring ripped the fabric to shreds. After reading some of the reviews (one in particular that seemed to know what he was talking about), I was hesitant to purchase it, but I went ahead and did so anyway. A MAJOR MISTAKE! It's now made out of a lighter-weight fabric with a smaller diameter (i. e. It has fallen apart after only a month of medium-duty use due to weaker spring wire, very poor stitching of handles to bucket, and so on. This product should only be used for very light yard work, in my opinion.
