The listing and the box both state this bag is NO, It's not like that. As you say, when they are FLAT and NOT yet opened, they measure 32" along the edge that will open once they are FLAT. However, they open to a diameter of about 20", with a little bit of extension. What does that have to do with anything? It is JUST TOO SMALL for them to pull over the top of a 55 gallon barrel and keep it protected There is too little space! The listing implies a much smaller size than it actually is! Take every piece of information with a grain of salt. They are not quite as thick as stated and come with a little twisty tie that could easily be used for a bathroom trash bag, as the bags are so thin.
