Questions & Answers

Do they need to be perpendicular to the ground or do they need to be angled 45 degrees? Can you tell me what the best method is?

As with our anchors, we inserted them at an angle away from the item to be

Can you explain how 25 inches of diameter works? The plants will stand on their own. Therefore, if there are high winds, I must have security. ?

Although they will likely prevent the trellis from blowing away, it is unlikely they will hold it in place long enough to prevent it from being blown

By itself (without shipping materials) how much does this item weigh In the case you are considering bringing it on a backpacking trip, would you round it down to ounces instead of Is everything ok?

As I bought them for someone else, I don't have them here to weigh them, but when I opened the box, I found them to be quite heavy for their small size. This makes them sturdy, but I definitely wouldn't want to carry them on a backpacking trip.

Selected User Reviews For Ashman Black Ground Anchor (8 Pack) 15 Inches in Length and 10MM Thick in Diameter with 50 Feet of Rope

A heavy-duty vehicle For it to make any progress, I had to put my full weight on it in order to press it down and rotate it
3/5

I ended up having to spend about twenty minutes to get it all the way into the ground, even when I cheated by hammering the stake well into the ground before attempting the torquing action. There is really no convincing me that this whole auger-thing will actually work To be honest, the blade concept works, but I wish I'd just bought the cheaper plastic stakes instead. You pound them down with a hammer and then you are done. A brief update The rope attached to one of these stakes (also attached to one of these anchors) popped out of the ground as I was tightening a line attached to one of these stakes. There had been many anchors, and this one had seemed to be the most strongly embedded. This is not a good sign for their holding power! Additionally, even though they've only been in the ground for a few months, they are already rusting. If you want my advice, look somewhere else.

It takes some strength to install them, but they're effective
4/5

Although they are pretty strong and do the trick for anchoring things down, they are somewhat hard to install, and I am a fit guy weighing 220 pounds. Some of the things I like and don't like

Let me tell you what I like- As far as finish and construction are concerned, they are well made, and the coating is sturdy enough to withstand some abuse when Please note
- It comes with a rod to help you put them in place, which is very Please note
- It has the following negative qualities

What I do not like The option of using a drill is not available. There is no way to do so in the design. Please note
- You will have a lot of trouble getting them all the way in if the ground is anything other than butter soft. In order to install them properly, you need to exert a great deal of pressure. Please note
- If your soil is ideal (sandy or soft) they work great. However, in rocky or clay-like soil, it will require a person who is big, strong, heavy, and patient in order to cultivate them.

Yes, I accept
3/5

That's what I was looking for in a car canopy. In the first 2 cases, I had to install them manually and that was bothersome. This time, I welded a 3/4-inch butch on the ends, and then hammered them in with an impact. They worked great in regular dirt. In my rockey soil, though, they were a little more difficult.

If the ground is sandy or loose, this is the best choice
3/5

A couple of them worked, but the rest forced me to dig holes, set them in, and then fill them with concrete to secure a carport. The stick they come with for mounting them into the ground is a joke it would only work in sand. Upon contact with anything, the corkscrew part bent and closed,, and thus the screw had no use. The bricks are definitely not something that should be used in an area where gravel or rocks are present in the soil (I seem to have a lot of rocks around my home).

There is already a nut Threading the loop on the end of the anchor into the nut welded to the body is integral to its function
5/5

The anchor can be drilled into the ground with a 14mm socket after the surface is removed. Using a hammer drill or impact drill would be better, as otherwise the ground on top of the anchor probably wouldn't be solid enough to be used right away. I was going to weld a nut on top anyway to make drilling these into the ground faster and easier, but I am going to use these as anchors for guy lines on a portable antenna mast. It made things easier just by doing this. In addition, I did not receive the rope that was supposed to go with these anchors. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. The same has also been mentioned by other reviewers. There is something wrong with the item, and I have contacted the seller. A quick update I was told that the rope was being shipped to me by the seller. It was never sent to me, however. I think I should take away another star because I have been lied to yet again. I am pretty satisfied with the performance of the anchors.

We found this accessory to be a great fit for our 20 x 12 It has been less than a week since these have been installed and I'm very happy with the results
5/5

As the wind picks up and the typical summer storms roll through, the shelter does not move at all. It was nice to find the install tool/bar in the box, as well as a bag to keep the unused anchors, tools, and cord neatly organized until they were needed.
