It was the 2nd time I purchased this item in the past year, and both times I was totally satisfied with it. The dust in the bag was minimal, but I didn't notice it until I mixed the coir into the dust bag.
Plant cuttings can be placed in wet perlite and then placed in a plastic bag for use as Cut the cuttings when the leaves appear and then plant them in a similar environment.
It is stated on the bag that it contains crystalline silica, which by California law has been documented to cause cancer, birth defects, etc. Upon reflection, I believed that this must be bonded silica, but I am not sure.

So THAT'S what this stuff is called! Rather than Styrofoam, the white stuff in potting soil is called Perlite. Why did you not know that?.
Overall, I think it's a good size bag and product, but the price is a bit too high for me. With coco coir and compost, I use it in a recipe for soilless potting mix for my container vegetable plants. It works well to drain the water.
It is easy to use, and my seeds have grown tremendously.
My mushroom box contains perlite, which is used as a desiccant to regulate humidity during mushroom growth. Despite its reasonable price and nicely packaged appearance, the product is of high quality. In addition to being used inside, perlite is also suitable for outside applications.
There was no problem opening the bag and it's resealable, so it makes it convenient. The pellet sizes were perfect and the bag was easy to open. I found the drainage system to work very well and did not have as much dust or dirt as the competition. In my opinion, this product is a good buy and I wouldn't hesitate to.
Upon receiving this, I found it to be accurate and timely. In order to start seeds or grow house plants, I mix perlite with humus to make a potting mix of 1 to 3. With this mixture, I am able to grow very healthy plants.
In order for my potted plants on the back porch to drain better, I always mix this with my soil. When perlite is added to potting soil, it loosens the soil that could otherwise be too dense.
I needed it to plant and could not find it there. Perlite is good quality and I am happy with it.
