Questions & Answers

What is this tubing's outside diameter (OD)?

It was extremely difficult to get it to fit into 1" fittings. Although it is stated that the ID is one inch, it is likely that it is slightly less. Also, this is a very light duty item!

I need to get some parts for this filter that I have. The connectors that connect my pump and the hose to the filter. ?

If the pumps and filters are Tetra products, connectors will be included. Please contact me at petsupport@spectrumbrands if you have any questions. com with more information about your setup, and I'll see what I can do to help.

Is it true that buying this tubing will save me $2300?

That sounds like a great deal, but it appears to be a typo. Typically, the list price is in the $20-$30 range. 25% more than the selling price.

Is it possible to use this in a potable application?

Tubing is a type of pipe that is used to transport liquid from one location to another. To get water to my waterfall in our pond, I used it to connect my pump to the waterfall.

This is a hose that you should not buy! This hose was installed in a 100 gallon pond by me
3/5

The hose developed two leaks in less than a week. It developed a third leak while trying to fix the first. This is a hose that you should not buy! The leaks are in the middle of the hose, not near the connections, as you can see in the photo. I attempted to load all of the images but was unable to do so due to some technical difficulties. I should point out that the leak in the photo is the tiniest. My pond was on the verge of being drained. Between the two of them is a koi pond.

Leakage from CPF-equipped fittings Filter for a pond with a capacity of 2500 gallons
3/5

After reading MANY MANY reviews of various Pond Filter brands, I narrowed it down to four. I finally decided on this one because of the many positive reviews and the great price, but I was a little hesitant because of the negative reviews claiming that this brand has leaking issues. br>With that in mind, I was looking forward to setting up the CPF- Filter for a pond with a capacity of 2500 gallons. br>Shipping and packaging were as described; I unpacked it and read the instructions, which I believe could be more detailed; however, because I did not understand all of the instructions, I turned to YouTube for assistance.
? I waited until the next day to install my pond filter, and now that I was a little more knowledgeable, I connected all of the fittings, connected the 1" inch hoses and clamps that I purchased, and connected the pump that came with it. I dug a hole and placed the filter unit inside, crossed my fingers, and sure enough, NO NO NO! Water was leaking from the roof. After that, I tried to fix it for a few days without success. The issue arises as a result of a two-part problem. You have three pieces in your design. 3/4" - 1" - 1" - 1" - 1" - 1 1” - 1 1/4" 1 1/4" 1/4 is a single piece that is HUGE, and the others are just slip-ons to save money. ins, which you'll need to pair with an o- There's nothing good about rings. I wish they had the option of purchasing a one-piece fitting, which would eliminate the LEAKING issues that plague all dissatisfied customers. br>When it comes to your pond, leaking is a very serious issue. Please HELP and provide options for your customers who want to buy higher-quality Pond Filters Systems. br>In the end, I should've paid attention to myself when I said LEAKS, LEAKS NO NO. I could have spent a little more on other brands that didn't mention LEAKING LEAKING LEAKING in their negative reviews.

a financial waste Because of the water flow, the walls become weak and rip
3/5

I cut out a section of the rip and reassembled it, hoping it was a weak spot that happens to things from time to time. I can see it's not a hose to put on a pump that has water flowing continuously after the second and third times. I'm disappointed because I now have to dig up the hose from the protected trail where I put it in order to replace it with one that is more durable and stronger. This is extremely aggravating because it is wasting time that I do not have to waste. Save your $20 and pay a little more for better quality.

Thinner material that is more flexible and less durable than in previous years
3/5

We've had a couple of garden ponds, as well as pumps, filters, and fountains, to name a few things. br>br>I ordered a coil of this flex tubing three years ago to connect up a new pump, pre-assembled. a filter and a canister to hold the filter; I was very pleased with the results. The inner plastic of the coil seemed to have a good balance of flexibility and durability. It was simple to set up. It's been 3 years since I made it, and it's still holding up. br>br>As a result, I did not hesitate to re-register in the year 2020. I'm going to order another coil to upgrade the connection between a pump and a fountain, where I've always used clear flexible tubing that gets stiff from UV exposure. br>br>To my dismay, the wall material has become significantly thinner, lighter, and more flexible. It wrinkles and folds in on itself due to its extreme flexibility. While more flexibility is desirable, it was difficult to slip onto connectors and was so thin that you were concerned about damaging it during installation, and it could not be as durable in the long run. br>br>I'm not sure if they're cutting corners or switching manufacturers. However, this tubing is no longer as good as it once was. If it's a knock-knock joke, for example. In some ways, it's an off-brand product. br>br>For pond tubing, I'm not sure what I'll get next. Tetra 100% was a brand that I used to believe in. I used to have a small aquarium when I was younger.

It was only for a short period of time
3/5

Leaked. Very low cost. This tubing appears to be in good working order. It began to spray out with consistent small cracks after a few months. They can't be fixed unless the hose is cut. Using this hose, I was able to lose half of a 300 gallon mini pond's water. Unless you're looking for something temporary and can keep an eye on it for leaks, I wouldn't recommend this hose. Due to the coils in the hose, it is impossible to cut the wire inside the rubber/plastic straight across. It also began to leak at the seam where my filter was attached. br>br> I tried taping it, sealing it with sealer, and tightening it with rings. It's not a clear even fit because it can't be cut straight across. This hose should not be buried underground, in my opinion. Simply put, it's untrustworthy. It isn't of very high quality. br>br>I can see new people with fish trying to use this hose and having a lot of issues. It's worth it to spend a little more money on a higher-quality hose. br>I would have taken pictures, but I threw it away because I was frustrated with having to replace it after it leaked all over the place. It was entirely my fault. br>It's possible that this hose will work better for someone else than it did for me. br>I have a 15,000 gallon pond on my property. In my garage, I have three 300 gallon small ponds. Two 75-gallon tanks and a 50-gallon baby fry tank are in my collection. I've worked with a lot of pond and aquarium hoses, so I'm familiar with them. br>I hope this information is useful to you. I don't think it's a good idea.
