You can find plenty of Hygroscopic Disks on ebay when you search for just the disks. A pack of 5 can be purchased The repair will cost you only $5 and your sensor will
During the splicing procedure, I incorporated the sensor wires into the wires coming from the power transformer to power There is no need to add an additional transformer.
There was only a rain sensor on A553000 which was the older version of WR2RC. There is a new WR2RFC rain, wind, and ice sensor in development, A553100 Detects the freezing of objects. A553100, the newer model from Rain Bird, is now the only one offered.

Here's the title and pics for the Rain/Freeze Combo (part # RFC), which is divided into This is the Rain/Freeze Controller Interface (part number The following request for information has been made The sprinkler controller will need to connect to both the indoor part and the rain/freeze sensor (part number WR2-), respectively Sending out a request for proposals If it rains, this part gets wet, so you install it outdoors). In the Amazon Warehouse, only the Rain/Freeze Sensor WR2 was available The Rain/Freeze Controller WR2 does not work with the RFI Request for information. You will find the following two bullet points in the item description when you scroll down Please keep reading. The only sensor included is the rain sensor. There is no panel included with this item. The seller is selling a separate panel
*I now understand that by Panel the seller means the controller interface WR2-II. Request for information. Prior to buying this article, I wish I had read the reviews of other buyers who had mentioned the same issue. The item title and pictures are misleading as well, so I called Amazon customer service over the phone.
I am now typing this as it is raining and the sensor is working fine.
There is no need to worry about setup. It was necessary to modify the outdoor sensor bracket to fit underneath my gutter leaf guard, but it was simple to do with just a hacksaw. First time I ordered, I did not receive the indoor unit. Second time it arrived, the indoor unit was there. There was only the outdoor sensor and mounting bracket for me. Additionally, there are other reviews that mention this. I call this deceptive marketing because the kit does not come with everything you need. There's no point in it except for if you're looking for parts to replace. The second order was from VMInnovations, with which I spoke before I placed the order. Neither of them could understand why I did not get the whole kit the first time. Make sure the sensor AND indoor receiver are included!.
It is very easy to install, has great features, and is a trustworthy brand. I found that YouTube videos proved to be helpful in the installation process. A pictorial guide provided by Racchio walks you through wiring the WR2 to it, which was straightforward for me to follow. In the manual, it said that I should pair the units, but it appeared they were already paired This step was skipped because the pairs were paired. In order to minimize water flow into the transmitter, I mounted it below an eaves point that is relatively close to the receiver and doesn't push too much water into it. Clearly, 3 bars are displayed at that point, so that is pretty comfortable for me. In the beginning, I left the water level at the default quarter inch. Afterward, I may adjust the setting by comparing it to my rain gauge to see if it calibrates correctly. In comparison to the Hunter unit, I believe the Rain Bird unit is just more feature-rich. Notably, the batteries on the Rain Bird unit are user exchangeable, the strength of the receiver signal is shown on the remote transmitter for easy installation point selection, and the receiver comes with helpful displays. The Freeze Detection unit was not an option for me since each fall I expect to shut down my computer before we get to the point when freezing is an issue. I have pretty high confidence in the Rain Bird brand, but it's brand new, so time will tell how it performs over time. The vendor, Sprinkler Supplier of Idaho, Inc,, did a good job of packaging and shipping it promptly, and they used Priority Mail 2. I was told it would be delivered overnight using Amazon Prime, so it worked out roughly the same way.
When you enjoy your early morning coffee and watch your sprinklers going right after or even during a heavy rain, there is nothing better than that feeling! The end is near! I recently installed the ST8 controller and this wireless sensor complements it perfectly. It was very easy to install this controller. There was plenty of cord to mount the console near the controller, so after confirming proper operation with the full length of the cord, it was trimmed back to fit the space. In the wake of a long period of dry days, the rains began, so the sprinkling days are being discarded without a second This seems to justify its cost? Well, I've paid more for similar gadgets to satisfy similar needs. Ideally, the ST8 would be linked to the RainBird app, so you could access the rain gauge reading on the ST8, but, that doesn't seem to be the case. On the status page, however, you can see that sprinkling has been suspended.
We have been experiencing very cold nights since I bought this in the early spring. My yard already gets a lot of rainfall, so I dislike wasting water on it, especially if it is about to rain. As of late, I haven't experienced any issues. The temperature dropped into the 30s within a few days of installing the system. As far as I can tell, so far, no water is being used if the temperature drops below 39. Additionally, the irrigation system has not been able to run on rainy days because of it! My favorite part of this feature is the sizing.
It was very easy to pair the Rainbird ST8I 2 with the ST8I. Controller 0 is not available. This purchase has been a great experience for me.
Even the manufacturer's label clearly states that it only works with rain sensors. It's not mentioned in either the photo or the description on Amazon. It is about $20 more to buy the one that says "with controller" if you need it. I give this product a neutral rating because the equipment does not seem to be broken in any way.
A screwdriver is all you need for installation and it takes less than five minutes. Ten seconds should be allowed for wireless setup. As a result of purchasing this, my water company refunded me $50 on my bill. In the end, I won a big prize! The rain barrel fills up with rain water and shuts off my sprinklers for the following cycle, and stays shut off until the water drops. Watering was WAY too intense because I was afraid to turn off the irrigation system on rainy days and forget to turn The sensor is now on every day, and based on the rain, it decides whether or not to water. There are options for adjusting it, but the default setting seems to work best.
