I'm not sure why I put off installing drip irrigation in my four raised vegetable beds for so long. I believe it was because I was intimidated and had no prior experience installing it. br>br>After years of painstakingly watering my vegetable garden by hand, I finally decided to take on this project, and I'm glad I did. It turned out to be a lot easier than I anticipated, and the 1/4-inch tubing was a breeze to work with. All I had to do was run 1/2 inch tubing from the spigot to each bed, then use 1/4 inch tubing to direct the water to where I wanted it. I also bought the emitter kit, which includes the hole punching tool as well as all of the necessary connectors. br>br>These items arrived quickly, and I had my drip irrigation system up and running in less than a day. Before connecting the tubing to the connectors and emitters, I softened the ends of the tubing in an insulated cup with hot but not boiling water. It made things a lot easier, especially because I was working on this project in the 30s. br>br>I'm really pleased with how everything turned out, and I'm looking forward to spring when I'll be able to better control the water to my plants. Because the tubing and emitters are difficult to see in the first photo, I included a picture with an illustration to show where I ran the tubing and placed the emitters. br>br>In the future, I would purchase from this company. I wish they had a larger selection of gardening supplies.
I like how simple this tubing is to use. Alternatives to chain stores are more versatile. br>My only issue is that the connections blow off under high pressure (there aren't many water outlets from the source), so there's no irrigation. Longer runs are perfectly acceptable. br>.
Because it's strong but flexible, this tubing is a breeze to work with. I rotate plants in a few places, so it's simple to tie a knot in the tubing rather than plugging or removing the line in case I need it again. I've had 1/4 inch tubing from other brands that needs to sit in the sun to be flexible enough to work with and then becomes very brittle over time; I've only had this for one season, but it appears to be holding up better than other brands at a similar price point. It's a breeze to set up drip irrigation with it!.
I've installed a lot of irrigation lines, and this one is by far the best. br>br>If you're going to install a drip line, spend a little more money and get the stuff that will last, as well as fit over the emitters because it's strong and supple. You'll save both time and aggravation by using this method.
I'm going to buy some more for when I run RDWC.
This year has been particularly difficult in terms of attempting to succeed. Keep your plants well-watered; with the weather being so hot, this is a breeze! I'll keep ordering it as long as I need it AA.
When compared to the other tubing on the market, you can tell that this one is of higher quality. Flexible and flat, the tubing can be used in a variety of applications. It's thick enough to stand up to the elements. This purchase was a good buy.
It has a softer texture and grips the fittings' barbs.
