The PRO- I bought a HC model (PHC-HC) and I'm really happy with it. 600- i) is an indoor model, but Hunter also has a PHC-II outdoor model. 600 The controller is also larger, necessitating the use of different mounting holes. Aside from that, it's a fantastic controller that's simple to set up and has an amazing connection to local weather stations.
No, the PHC timers are not expandable. If you want to add more zones, you'll need the PHC1200i or PHC2400i. Thank you for your time and consideration.br>

To program this from a computer, tablet, or smartphone, you'll need a 4Ghz wireless router and a free cloud account. During an Internet outage, the controller saves the most recent program and continues to use it. During a power outage (with no battery backup), however, it will not operate the sprinkler valves. Without the use of a battery (non-rechargeable), programming is preserved during a power outage. technology based on volatile memory). This product does not require the use of the Internet, but if you do not intend to program the controller using the Internet, I would recommend a less expensive controller. br>br>There are a plethora of programming options available, ranging from simple timed zones to more advanced options that incorporate weather data from cloud heuristics. Some people have expressed a desire for multiple and closer weather station input, which is not available for free. It is necessary to pay an additional fee (which I do not do). I've found that the existing "virtual" weather station based on Hunter's logic is sufficient for my needs. If you're starting from scratch with an irrigation system, I highly recommend purchasing the Hydrawise flow meter, which is compatible with this controller. This allows you to keep track of how many gallons you're using and keep an eye out for water line breaks, such as when a mowing service accidentally clips a sprinkler head. br>br>Overall, a fantastic product that comes highly recommended.
The original hunter sprinkler controller had a problem. Instead of attempting to repair it, my neighbor recommended that I upgrade to a smart Hunter control. I bought that, but I also bought and installed this model after doing some research and learning about controllers and their capabilities. It really appeals to me. When I was younger, I would be away from home, or even in bed, and want the sprinklers to turn on. Of course, now I can easily and for as long as I want to run sprinklers from anywhere, which was particularly useful for the sod I installed. I was able to use the sprinklers several times per day until the sod took hold. I enjoy being able to identify the zones using photographs, as well as being able to be outside and adjust the co trim and observe how the system responds. The control itself looks really modern and techs with its blue light to show that it is working, and the installation and set up were simple peasy and I didn't need any technical help. It was knocked offline due to bad weather, and I was told that this would not affect the schedule. When I finally got around to it, I reset my router, and the control came back online without my intervention. Weather sensing is a fantastic feature. It schedules all of the skips for weather changes and notifies you that the schedule is being changed due to weather. I also noticed that the schedule had been adjusted to accommodate the seasonal change. Summer has arrived. I am completely satisfied.
I was having trouble getting irrigation services out to figure out what was wrong with my system, so I finally had someone over the phone walk me through my issues, and he determined that the problem was simply the control panel. He told me that he could come out and charge me $250, but that he didn't need the extra work and didn't have much time at the time, and that it was simple enough for me to do on my own, and that he recommended this model. The instruction book is a little confusing because it covers three or four different model installations, all of which are mixed up in the pamphlet, so you have to double-check that you're on the right page. It will take about 30 minutes from beginning to end if you are organized and patient. It's great to have the wireless control on my phone because it eliminates the need for me to go into the garage and try to reach the control panel, which isn't in the most convenient location for me.
Originally, I was going to order the HC-. 600, but it necessitates controlling the master valve with one of the allocated zones, leaving only 5 zones available for irrigation. The Pro- Because of the screw terminal location and the room to route my cables, HC solved that problem, making it easier to install. It's simple to set up and use the Hydrawise app. I wanted to change the controller's name after I'd already set it up, but it took me a long time to find the settings for the controller name in the menu. The app has been a joy to use in terms of functionality. I've been able to turn on some heads remotely to suspend watering or locate them, and these are the main reasons I upgraded from my old manual controller to the new Pro-Control. Finally, I was able to connect my existing RainClik sensor while also having the option of adding a flow sensor if I so desired. So far, it's been flawless, and I'm really enjoying it.
I set up this controller and connected my three zones, and it's fantastic! It doesn't get any easier than this when it comes to programming. If rain is expected, the watering will be turned off. It keeps a record of events. My phone or computer is in charge of everything. Setting it up was a breeze. This controller is incredible, and I can't say enough about it. It's been running smoothly for over a month! Perfect!.
I replaced my Hunter Pro with a new one. C stands for the Hydrawise unit that has been upgraded. It took about 15 minutes to complete the installation. Once it's turned on, setting it up and connecting to WiFi is as simple as it gets. It's also simple to set up zones and watering schedules with the app's user-friendly interface. I also installed the Hunter rain sensor, which was also very simple. This will help me save money on my water bill because I frequently forget to turn off the sprinkler system after a heavy downpour.
I bought this unit and it went together quickly. I programmed it with my phone and it was simple to set up. However, nowhere in the listing did it say that it was an INDOOR controller and not for use outside.
This was intended to be a replacement for a previous Hunter Pro. Simple installation instructions were followed, and the use of predictive watering resulted in significant water savings.
