In comparison to Orbit, this is a poor value. Yes, it is effective. Can you, however, make it work with all of the features? Having a slot for two 9-volt batteries is a huge plus. However, it is a poor valve, costing almost twice as much as competitors like Orbit. br>Programming is a challenge. I do a lot of irrigation work and have set up a lot of timers in the past. The display is dim, and the display icons are indistinct and small, making it the most difficult to program or adjust. Because the instructions are printed in small, fine print, and using them outside in the sun or wind is difficult, I gave up and brought the two units inside to program. Even so, it's a time-consuming, tedious, and aggravating process. Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please br>The clip should be designed as a clamp for 3/4" pipe, as hanging this often necessitates the use of its own wood post! br>Hunter is marketed as a professional brand, but in this case, the homeowner Orbit item is far more so. br>Oh, and here's a pro tip: If the battery's cup isn't completely sealed, it will fill with water. It's most likely going to be destroyed. To avoid this, Mr. Hunter, the 'cup' should be redesigned to have external threads rather than internal threads. Drill a drain hole in the bottom of the battery cup to solve the problem - as well as voiding your warranty! br>With Hunter's additions, it has the potential to be a fantastic product. While you wait for that upgrade, I recommend a mechanical timer or one of the many simpler, easier, and less expensive timers available on Amazon.
br>In professional installations, a redundant valve and the complement of parts should still be standard, especially when protecting multi-million dollar properties like Rooftop gardens. It's a good idea to get in touch with a reputable drip irrigation system installer like New York Plantings Irrigation.
So it was properly installed, the plumber demonstrated how to use it, and then he left, and this happened the next day. The valve's seam simply disintegrated. I'd spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to control the unit, and it's a pain. I'm at a loss for what to do next - The plumber completed his work and was paid, but now I'm stuck with a broken valve and no idea how to return it or what to get to replace it. It's a pity.
and make sure you stay on track! It's difficult to program, the icons are small, and it's difficult to read outside. We were able to water for a few days after we got it working properly. After that, it stopped working. Had to try to reprogram, which was difficult, only for it to go wrong again a few days later. br>It's too late to return, but we can at least turn the water onbr>on each station by hand; replacing it with a different brand will require hiring a plumber. $$$$$$$.
