We only go to our farm once a week, so I fill it up every week, and it still has a little water in it when I get there, so I just fill it up again before we leave, and the tree looks fantastic. Because I lacked one of these, my previous one died.
Unfortunately, the bags trapped the sun's heat against the trunks of my trees, causing them to burn and kill all three trees on which they were used. Look at the dark discoloration in the trunk in my photos; that's where the bag burned the trunk! Please consider this information before purchasing, and don't let this terrible product kill any more trees.
We purchased several of these 20 gallon bags in order to water our newly planted trees. We followed the instructions to the letter, filling them 1/4 full and pulling them up off the ground before filling them to capacity. Water is dispensed from these bags at a variety of rates. During the first 24 hours after planting, one of our new trees received very little water. It immediately began to show signs of stress.
This is an excellent way to ensure that your newly planted trees get the water they require during the hot summer months. One of my new watering bags tore at one of the seams, so I was very impressed with this company. They replaced it right away. Very quick to respond and helpful. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a way to care for their new or young trees to purchase this product.
I bought a three-pack and zipped two of them together to water a multi-tiered garden. We transplanted a dogwood tree with a trunk. The two bags on the same tree do not empty at the same rate, and they appear to take a little longer to empty than the package indicates, but I would rather they empty slowly than quickly. If I needed to, I could always drill a new hole. In the end, they're effective.
The bags were not at all unpleasant to me. When you're multi-tasking, they're extremely useful. In your landscape, you've got a lot of work to do. The drip irrigation bags are fantastic, but due to the drought we are experiencing right now, my young trees needed to be watered with a hose. As a result, if I need more water right away, I'll use the bags or the hose. I like the bags because they are very durable.
These watering bags have come in handy for my "baby" trees during this scorching summer. It also makes my life easier if I can just fill the bags and let them do the watering instead of standing outside with the hose, unsure how much water the trees are getting. This not only makes things easier, but it also makes them look nice.
It's incredibly simple to use. Simply wrap the bag around the tree and fill the bag's slit with water. The tree is then watered gradually with the contents of the bag. Zippers are heavy-duty, and the construction is thick and sturdy. duty.
