Questions & Answers

What is the minimum amount of pressure required for safe operation?

They work with pressures ranging from 15 to 50 pounds per square inch. There are numerous pressure regulators (reducers) to choose from. They attach to your timer or faucet with a screw. Drip pressure is typically 25 to 30 psi.

Which is better, non-pressure compensating or compensating?

Over the course of a longer system, pressure compensating will ensure a more even flow. I hope this information is useful.

What is the difference between this drip and the xeri bug drip head at the same 0. A rate of 5 gph?

The xeri bug drip responds to pressure, whereas the Rain Bird BUE05- is not. Not in the case of 25S. Aside from that, they're identical.

Five gallons per minute is excessive. Is it possible for me to use two? 5 gph in series with a flow stopper?

Reduce the amount of water you use by cutting down on the time you spend. 30 minutes yields 1 quart, while 15 minutes yields 16 ounces. Water twice or three times a week, not every day. Repot to a larger size and provide more water/time if the pot dries out after a day.

These drip emitters are fantastic
5/5

When we moved into our new home, we discovered that the sprinkler system in the backyard was completely broken. I couldn't find the sprinkler valves for the back yard, even with professional assistance, so I decided to research and install my own drip irrigation system to automate the watering process, primarily because I'm too lazy to water my backyard every other day. Because of the positive reviews and the variety of options, I chose the Rainbird family of products. br>br>I chose these drip emitters for my yard's medium-sized trees and shrubs, and 1/2-inch tubing as the system's backbone. Then 1/4-inch tubing for individual plants, flowers, trees, and shrubs. You can install them in one of two ways. Like I did, you can simply install them into 1/2 in tubing. Another option is to install a 1/4-inch coupler into 1/2-inch tubing and then run a 1/4-inch tube to the plant. The drip emitter should then be connected to this end. Some people complain that the water pressure pushes the emitter off the end of the tubing, so I went with this configuration. br>br>For a bag of them, this is a fantastic price. br> They are very simple to set up. To punch the proper size hole in the tubing, make sure you buy and use the Rainbird special tool. Insert the emitters into the tubing with the Rainbird tool as well. Special tools aren't my favorite, but they're only a few dollars each. I saved a lot of money by doing this project myself ($250 total), so getting the specialized tools was well worth it to me. br> So far, I've been very pleased with the results.

- So far, nothing has been discovered. br>br>So far, the performance of these drip emitters has been excellent. Some people have complained about getting dirt on them, but I don't think that will be an issue for me. I'll keep this review up to date as needed.

There is no requirement for a certain amount of water pressure. (This is a Turbulent Flow design. ) These were used in conjunction with Rain Bird 0. Even at 45 psi, the 700 drip line is only running 3. 396 liters per hour (0. 9 gal. /hr. With so much pressure, you did a fantastic job. It's important to remember that these aren't legal. Emitters on PCs with a rating of 0 5 gal. /hr. I expected closer to 1 psi at 15 psi. 5 gal. /hr. That means they have a good flow control system for a non-fluid environment. Emitter for the personal computer br>After some investigation, I discovered that the turbulent-flow The square-root of the number of flow emitters varies. sqrt(45/15)*0 in my case, or the root of the pressure. 5 = 0. 866 gal. /hr. With 25 psi, my flow would be sqrt(25/15)*0, which is almost perfect. 5 = 0. 646 gallons per hour is the maximum flow rate. br>These can be pierced, but I pre-pierced them with an awl. There were no leaks with this method of starting the holes. I'm thinking of using these with a gravity feed system, and they're ideal because there's no minimum pressure (and thus no compensation feature to get in the way of operation). I'm ready to order more because 25 of the 25 worked perfectly!.

There are two types of Rain Bird: For the better one, you'll have to pay a bit more
3/5

I've used Rain Bird emitters before, but I didn't realize there was a 0. The 5 GPH emitter was not the same as the ones I had previously used. It's not pressure compensating and I had a high failure rate (at least 10%). Early in the watering line, emitters emit far more water than those at the end, so invest in higher-quality emitters. Rain Bird's good ones have the opposite color pattern (black barb, blue emitter). SW05 is the SKU, I believe. I wish I had paid more attention to this when I placed my order because I am now past the return deadline and will simply throw these away.

The color scheme is perplexing
4/5

These are a little confusing because the colored part is supposed to go on the hose (at least, that's what I think!). The black part of the original kit's parts is the part that attaches to the hose, whereas the black part of the new kit's parts is the part that attaches to the hose. As a result, I'm deducting a point. Apart from that, they appear to be in good working order.

It is a straightforward task to install
5/5

These emitters are by far the easiest to attach when using the rain bird emitter tool, and I've purchased several other brands. I use them for hydroponics and outdoor irrigation, and there have been no leaks from the emitter location, and I have yet to encounter a bad emitter!.

Obtain pressure compensated different brands 0
3/5

5 GPH. Many reviews state that these drip "even more. " On my very specific setup, the line has about 60 drippers, a 25 psi regulator, and I measured these to output 120 oz per hour, or roughly 1 GPH, which is more than double the listed rate of 0. 5 GPH. For 0. 50, you can get a bag of 50 pressure-compensated red/black button drippers. Although 5 GPH of a different brand were more accurate in the end, about 1 in 10 were garbage. I'd rather throw out 5 out of 50 plants than have them die from flooding.

It is both inexpensive and simple
5/5

It was much easier and less expensive than I expected to install a drip irrigation system in my garden. So much so that I'm extending it to other flowerbeds and the landscaping of my front yard. Although drip emitter tubing with drip emitters is available, using a 100' of 1/2 blank tubing and 50 of these is less expensive and allows you to place the emitters exactly where you need them without cutting and wasting inline emitter tubing.

It's all about the color
3/5

I'm not sure why the inside is colored, but it makes it difficult to identify after installation. This is not the case with other similar products. Other than that, the product is excellent.
