I have had no problems using Miracle Gro water soluble fertilizer in the bags.
Over a 4-hour period, they provide thorough watering. 8 hours, and must be refilled before the next watering, 2- 5 days later, depending on the age and size of the tree, as well as local weather conditions.
There were five of them in the pack.
Yes. They're great for our new trees, which are about a foot tall. The diameter is 1 1/2".

The price is excellent. If you're worried about getting them around the tree, the zipper disassembles completely like a jacket. br>br>They have a large capacity and are large enough to go around a tree and a support stake. In the midst of a drought, Amazon's one-day delivery was a lifesaver. br>br>A couple of extras: The bag's weight aids in the support of young trees, and it shields a young trunk from the sun.
I used to set a hose with a trickle of water for my tree to allow the water to penetrate deep into the ground, but I'd forget to turn it off, wasting water. I don't have to remember to turn off the hose because these watering bags release the water at the proper rate. This is fantastic!.
I have nine fruit trees that do not have access to water. I used to have to run hoses around and let them drip for hours last summer, but these tree waterers have made my life a lot easier. Fill the reservoir and it will soak in over several hours; the only disadvantage is that some of my trees are still young and the waterer is too high. It's only a short-term disadvantage because the trees will grow back. These tree waterers come highly recommended by me.
I purchased a total of 20 bags. With the intention of purchasing a large number of additional trees as I plant a large number of them. The item claims to be able to hold and water a tree for eight hours, which is completely false. I could understand if one or two didn't work, but only ONE of the TWENTY bags managed to keep water for over an hour. They don't even come close to holding what they say they do. I was worried that I'd done something wrong when I installed them. As a result, I looked up a few YouTube videos on how to install and fill these bags properly. This shouldn't be a difficult task. In fact, properly installing and filling these bags is a breeze. However. It doesn't make a difference what I did. Within 45 minutes, all of the water had leaked out. I didn't even have time to finish packing the rest of my bags. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO QUALITY ASSURANCE BEFORE THE PRODUCT IS SHIPPED OUT, AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO QUALITY ASSURANCE BEFORE.
Many of the trees at the house we bought are dying or dead. We couldn't figure out why, so we enlisted the help of a tree expert. Water scarcity was one of the factors contributing to our trees' demise. That was never an issue in the East, but it is now! He suggested that we buy tree bags to water our trees more slowly. br>These 20 gallon bags are ideal because they can be zipped together to provide more water to our larger trees. They're sturdy, and I expect them to last for several seasons.
This is the second time I've ordered potato bags. I ordered some at the start of the summer and have them all set up in my yard. br>br>A few weeks ago, my neighbor came over and was very interested. I promised I'd get him some so they could both grow them. br>br>I'm not sure which brand I ordered previously, but these are identical and equally as good. I assisted my neighbor in filling the containers and preparing to plant them. I should have taken some photos, but I'll do so the next time I visit.
I have another brand that takes 8-hours to empty. If you're looking for a longer watering period, these take 12 hours to completely discharge, so I'm not sure why they empty so quickly. Wouldn't recommend or buy again if you're looking for a longer watering period.
My backyard is lined with trees planted in a flowerbed with no dedicated sprinkler line, and because I live in the desert, where the heat is oppressive from July to August, my trees require additional water. Rather than running a sprinkler line to the trees, I decided to experiment with these. I initially purchased three in order to put them to the test. br>br>I was immediately impressed by the construction quality. It is made of a thick material that can withstand the pressure that is created when the bags are filled. Although the outflow rate cannot be adjusted, I believe it is slow enough that the water flows directly into the ground rather than pooling. I ended up purchasing a dozen more for the rest of my trees and have been pleased with how well they perform the function for which they were created. This weekend, I'm putting them away for the winter because I don't think leaving them out in the cold is a good idea. If you believe your trees require more water, this product is for you.
