Selected User Reviews For 300 Double Postage Meter Tapes 5.25 x 3.5
The initial set was fantastic- They were a good weight with a heavy enough backing that they stayed firm in the printer, and they had a red dashed line on the front so you could tell which side was "up" when you put them in. Those were deserving of a five-star rating. br>br>The second order is terrible, and I'd give them a two-star rating. They're flimsy, and you have to look closely to make sure the top is facing upwards. They also don't sit firmly in the printer, so you can't be sure the label is all the way back. I'm not sure what changed, but I literally reordered the same item from my order history, so it's not like I grabbed the wrong item the second time. The only positive thing I can say about these labels right now is that they do the job and are less expensive than buying them directly from Pitney Bowes. I'll contact the supplier to find out what happened, and I'll update my review if I learn anything new. br>br>The first order was placed in December 2012, followed by a second order in May 2013. The company has not yet responded. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> When I informed Amazon of the problem, they promptly refunded my money and did not require me to return the labels. They advised me to return and place a new order right away, and the problem should be resolved. Discount Supply Company was the first company I used to order labels from. Sojitec was involved the second time. When I emailed Discount Supply Company, I received a quick response explaining that the second shipment had been fulfilled by Amazon by a different company, and that company's labels were of poor quality. They assured me that theirs would be identical to the ones I ordered the first time, so I placed a new order for labels, which arrived in excellent condition. If the labels are being shipped by Sojitec, I recommend that you do not order them. It's just that their labels aren't very good.
These work as well as Pittney brand and cost about 75% less. The only issue is that when you put in the meter, there is no mark on the side to print on (assuming you're printing it before sticking it to the envelope, as in a larger envelope). Put a small dot on one side so we can see which side goes up in the postage meter- when only this label is printed before being applied to a larger envelope It prints fine on the backside and you don't realize it until you're about to stuff it into an envelope.
I tried to save money by using these labels instead of Pitney Bowes labels, and it worked out okay. The labels aren't as secure as the PB ones, but they're still usable and much less expensive. If worst comes to worst, if security is a concern, a strip of tape can be placed on it. We don't do this with letters that have labels; instead, we do it with the odd box. My front office thinks I'm crazy because they think they're fine! Give me a seven out of ten if Pitney Bowes is a nine.
Price is reasonable and the location is convenient.
