I'm not sure how much it weighs, but it's not a lot. LOL
I just tried to put on a pair of boot socks and they are way too tight. To be safe, I'd go with a 6x9.

There isn't a lot of padding, but for more fragile items, you can add more. On the bag, the adhesive is excellent. In any case, I always add tape for safety.
