In fact, yes. As for the original tab, it cannot be removed, but a new one can be added, then the plastic cover replaced.
In legal size, you need a page at least eight inches long, but this is in letter size.

It would cost me $30 to cut up cardboard for the same purpose. *I am disappointed This is *A. The tabs provided by the manufacturer are not large enough to accommodate it. There is only a teeny area in which the subject matter has to be written by hand. No useful information or readable content. This is *B. A riveted metal tab is riveted to a cardboard tab placed in an oversized hole. A. B. C. One eighth inch. There are usually 10 or more metal file cabinets in a metal filing cabinet It is 3". In order to see amongst a forest of file folders, I would prefer them to be taller. If worst comes to worst, you could just cut the cardboard bottom down. Putting it simply, I would not have bought these for $30 since the tab does not have a sufficiently large 'window' to read clearly.
As a whole, I think the product is fine, just thought that when I put these in a file cabinet drawer, they would be tall enough to be seen above the files unfortunately, they aren't large enough- I ended up with tabs that were the same height as the tabs on folders when I have them in hanging files, but were way too short if I tried to put them Even though I don't plan to order more as I had hoped to, I will figure out a way to use them.
It was great to work with them. It is easy to find what I am looking for and the cups are very sturdy.
There was one product (4) that was not in good shape. There are some edges that are bent or torn. I reinforced them with multiple layers of wide tape so that I would not have to return them.

I was looking for something like this and this was perfect. It is hard to find, but they are a great deal. They are made of a stiff cardstock so they should hold up well, and the reinforced tab will help them to last a long time.
It is a very sturdy product.
