For the time being, I'm forced to work from home and have a three-year-old son. I needed a monitor setup for my work-issued Surface Pro that would help me make the most of my desk space. It's adjustable, but at its lowest setting, it's exactly the right height for general work. It's designed so that I can store my glasses and whatever else I want beneath it. It's also heavy enough that it doesn't move around when I'm adjusting and moving my tablet or signing documents on my screen. If I had the opportunity to make a change, I would add notches in the back to help secure cords. My only issue with it when combined with the Surface Pro is the height and direction of the camera when I'm in virtual meetings. br>br>I'll explain why I need this in a minute, but my cords occasionally fall behind my desk and this would be a nice feature to avoid buying another product. br>br>My only issue with it when combined with the Surface Pro is the height and direction of the camera when I'm in virtual meetings. The camera is a little off in either direction, so I have to adjust the stand or move my tablet completely. My biggest issue is that people can only see my chin and the ceiling when I'm flipped either way. This would never be a reason for me to return it (especially given how much I enjoy it), so I'm leaving it at 5 stars. It would be easier to bear if the cords had notches.

Small flat rubber grips on the bottom plate keep it from sliding around while you're using it. br>Excellent consistency and quality - By far, this stand is closer to professional hardware than any of the other stands we've tried. br>With clear instructions, it's simple and intuitive to put together in a minute or two. Six screws (they gave me eight, which I appreciated), two for the top plate and four for the bottom plate, and it was finished. The top and bottom metal plates are of excellent, perfectly painted quality, and the bottom part of the stand has a great, thin rubber anti-slip surface. Place a mat on top of it. The screws that hold the top and bottom plates together are well hidden and of good quality. br>br>I use it to raise two fairly large military-style vehicles. Both receivers have thick coaxial cables running into the back and a small digital mixer/recorder mounted on top of them. This stand has no wobble or looseness, never slips off the desk, and never moves while rotating and tuning with various knobs and using the keypads on both receivers all day. It's nice not to have to stress about or rig up anything else to keep the stand stable, which isn't always the case. br>br>I never write a review for something that was given to me or that was discounted in any way; I have no affiliation with the seller or the manufacturer; I simply share my honest opinion.

I had been using an Amazon cardboard box until recently, when I switched to this stand; I had previously used "n" shaped stands, but they didn't provide as much height, and if they did, they limited side entry. This extra space can be used to store larger laptop docks. br>br>The monitor appears to be "suspended" on a pedestal with this stand. The design is clever because it consists of two flat surfaces connected by a pillar in the back (giving the appearance of suspension). This layout makes it easy to keep track of your tablespace. Without having to rewire anything, I was able to fit my laptop dock in with ease.

The stand, too, is in keeping with the theme. It has an almost architectural quality to it. It's extremely well-made and durable, with only three components: The top plate, the base plate, and the pillar are the three plates that make up the top plate. All you have to do now is screw the plates to the top and bottom of the pillar (using the provided tool) and you're done. A very clever and well-considered idea. The two studs on either end of the pillar, which help to align the holes in the plates so that the screws can be inserted more easily, are an important part of the design. That's what I'm talking about when I say "enlightened engineering. " Those studs didn't need to be there in the first place. They were not necessary for the stand to function. However, someone decided that adding the studs would help with assembly and provide additional rigidity. That's what I call quality!.

One of the main features I was looking for was something that was easy to assemble, was fairly sturdy, and wasn't clunky. br>br>It's made of solid metal, but the base could be a little heavier. I haven't had any problems with it tipping or anything, but given the size of the monitor I have on top of it, it is a little wobbly. br>br>The last point is the other problem I'm having with this product: my monitor is 24 inches wide and has a 16-inch screen. in a broad base I didn't see any other size options for the stand, and the base of the monitor extends a couple of inches off the stand on each side, as you can see in the photo I attached. Given the size of most monitors these days, I would love for the bottom of the stand to weigh an additional pound and for the stand itself to be several inches wider. br>br>However, I am generally pleased with the stand, and it accomplishes exactly what I wanted it to, namely, reducing clutter while maintaining a small footprint. Because I have Amazon Prime, I can be picky and return items that don't live up to my high standards, but I kept this product, which is the best recommendation I can give.
