This is a 3 inch binder that I bought for my daughter she was going into 6th grade this year. My opinion is that's a ridiculous thing to do. They don't get lockers and they don't get school supplies, but you still need a Since we live in Texas, we didn't start school for 2 weeks because of the hurricane, so she has not really used it and it is falling apart. The rings don't close correctly, the zipper does not zip the binder, and the material gets caught. It's 30 in the morning, I'm in a school supply store looking for a 3 inch binder, which no one has, so I had to get her one that was 1 inch and think this product is not suitable for 6th grade students. The eleven-year-old I am putting this binder with in her schoolwork uses it. It is overflowing with papers, and he keeps his school iPad inside as well. In the past, I had a student who refused to leave his backpack at home. I've heard that students are allowed to carry binder straps to class, and he told me that he used to have one before and he was never carrying a backpack with him. He will love this! This is a great binder for middle school students. There is a zipper so that everything stays in. All of the items middle schoolers need for every class except for books and iPads are kept in there. You can even use it to file homework or graded papers in accordion fashion. You'll need a see-through pencil bag as well as folders and lined paper to complete the binder.
