When folded, the stool has a depth of 1 1/4 inch. I own three of these stools and am very pleased with their performance. I would strongly suggest it.
The dimensions are 10 1/4 inches wide by 15 inches long.
Both yes and no! No, it cannot be closed by a child if the folding legs are open. There is a pressure push-button on it. To collapse the legs, press the button on both legs; it's difficult for me to do so; a child would never be able to do so. (You have to push and pull the leg at the same time, and it takes a lot of coordination; a child wouldn't be able to do it.) br>At this point, the answer is yes. The child could open the legs if they were collapsed, but once they were fully opened, they were locked open, so refer to my No answer. This step stool is in each of my vehicles (for the elderly or disabled) because I own a Black Car Service in Palm Springs, CA. They're well-made and stable, and they're a low-profile step that can support up to 300 pounds. My clients frequently request that I order one for them because they enjoy them so much. I have two in my office right now, waiting for my clients to pick them up. You'll enjoy this step-by-step guide. stool.
It's very simple. On the opposite legs, there is a small latch. The legs will fold if you push this in. The latch, I assume, is there as a safety feature to prevent the legs from folding in while standing on it.

This is a design with a lot of potential for failure. This step flipped out from under me today as I reached for a shelf, almost breaking my leg! I'm still a young man, so I'm lucky. Things could have turned out much worse if this had been my mother. br>br>I'm not too concerned with the folding design, but I am concerned with the stability! br>br>Also, keep in mind that this isn't a particularly wide step, making it less stable. br>br>This is the first time a stool has flipped out from under me. This is a risky choice unless you are 100% vigilant that you step in the exact center each time.
Because the legs only angle to the left and right, rather than to the front and back, the step is unstable. If you step too close to the front or back of the step, it will tip forward or backward. It's extremely dangerous!.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this stool. We use it so that I can assist my wife in loading her belongings into our SUV. Although the SUV is not one of the larger or higher models, the seats are higher than those in a sedan, so if she places her feet on the stool when I lift her out of her wheelchair, the extra height will aid in her proper positioning. The stool appears to be extremely durable and folds up quickly. It fits easily into the back seat floor and is unobtrusive even when there are other passengers in the vehicle.
I must have purchased four additional stepstools in the hopes of finding one that would allow my mother to enter my SUV. This one was by far the most sturdy and had the ideal height. It's made of sturdy metal rather than flimsy plastic, and its square base is larger than any of the other stepstools we looked at. I would strongly suggest it.
The Halo step stool's feet open up and lock into place. The 4 feet, on the other hand, have a hard, rubber-like surface that will cause them to slip on any surface. br>The Halo stool's top is also made of a hard material that makes it more likely for your feet to slip off. The Halo step stool measures 6 inches in height. It's 25" high, which is perfect for my wife, who has trouble with stool step height. br>Overall, I believe the Halo is a hazardous stool, and I will return it. br>br>I also tried the AdjustaStep 8. The rubber feet are amazing for non-slip and the top of the stool is excellent for gripping (you can find it on Amazon).
This is what I discovered after looking around. It's small, but it's a solid piece of equipment. It's collapsible, and I was able to lift it into the van with the help of a dog kennel lead. The answer is perfect!.
It is extremely useful. I've used it all over the house to get to higher shelves. I can just reach the ceiling lights to change a bulb because it's just high enough. It has assisted me in getting up from the floor (I am elderly). Although it is pricey, I am glad I purchased it. Is there a way to maintain quality after the price has been forgotten?.
I've owned a few different step stools over the years, so I'm not sure what else to say. This is the most stable stool I've ever had. It's made of thick metal with locking mechanisms, and it's made of heavy gauge metal. I'd put 300 pounds on it with no problem.
