Whether folded or open, the height is the same.
Sorry, but I've never put more than 250 on this step in my life. However, the one I got clearly states 300.
It measures 15"x12" in size.
It is a single stool. It's a solid piece of equipment!

It had to be high enough for me to easily reach the center of a car's roof and low enough for me to sit on it and work on the car's lower section. This stool does a good job of covering both of these areas. It can also be used as a platform to stand on. I'm 160 pounds, so I can't speak for someone who is heavier, but it's plenty strong for me. br>br>I'm constantly moving this stool from one place to another. So imagine my surprise when I reached for the center section of the stool to carry it and my finger was crushed. NOT PERMITTED IN ANY WAY! So, in order to use this stool as I had hoped, I had to make a change. I must now grab the "outside" of the stools' opening and carry from there. It's not exactly how I wanted to spend my time, but it "sort-of" works. But then, in my left hand, I had a bottle and a micro-computer. With a fiber towel in my right hand, I reasoned that I could grab the center section of the stool without pinching a finger, and then I did it again. The same finger was pinched again and again. It's been three days since that happened, and the finger is still bothering me. br>br>This stool is NOT suitable for a small child.
I had no idea how tall 16" would be when I ordered it. If you don't have long legs, I wouldn't recommend using it. Also, be cautious when closing it because the two-handle design collapses more quickly, trapping and pinching your thumb between parts of the stool.
This stool was a complete shambles. When my toddler sat on it, the leg snapped and crunched beneath him. Underneath the stove, the missing piece can be found. It's not a particularly strong or thick piece of plastic. When folded, I liked how small it was.
I've used it to both stand and sit on, and it's incredibly durable. I'm 5'10" and weigh 255 lbs. Because I'm so tall, having a 16" stool to sit on when working on remote sites makes getting up much easier than if I only had a 14" stool. I wish it had holes in the ends so that I could grab it while sitting on it to scoot forward; as it is, I have to stand up, find the side holes, and then pull it forward; otherwise, it's perfect. I didn't deduct stars for this because I assume the holes are missing for sturdiness reasons.
I'm 221 pounds, and this thing broke after four or five uses. I was fortunate that I did not fall, but it did break slowly enough for me to jump off.
One of the two units that I had ordered was defective. It was wrapped in the cellophane wrapper used during the manufacturing process. One corner, however, had been sheared off, and another joint piece had been broken off and was loose in the packaging. To put it mildly, I'm disappointed.
For the kitchen, I purchased the 13" for my wife. She's only 5' tall, so she switched to the 16" so she could reach the top shelves more easily. It's both durable and light. It appeals to her.
The stool is simple to open and close, and it takes up very little space when not in use. I like it, but the way the seat and top connect is a little tricky. The area where the two flaps meet isn't as sturdy as I'd like it to be, so I'll make sure they stand on the edges rather than in the middle. It is suitable for a wide range of tasks. Small children may get their fingers caught because of the way it collapses. This stool outperforms two other options available on Amazon.
