If I don't get a new apartment, I move into a different dorm every six months. So having a laptop stand that I can take with me and that doesn't take up much room - that's ideal. I don't use it when I don't have to - To me, this is very important. br>br>The stand can be dismantled in two parts, each of which fits snugly into the base plate. It does not have a lubricated sliding sensation, which is beneficial to stability. I pressed against the stand a little harder than usual along the entire frame of the stand, and there is little to no flex. It begins to move after applying a force of 7kg to one arm. Around 10 kg of force causes the arm to bend. You'd gain a lot more strength if you supported the weight with both arms. Overall, this is an excellent laptop stand. br>br>The silicone padding is excellent, and it extends all the way to the arm's lip, preventing the laptop from sliding off. Because most metal laptops are also made of aluminum, I've always been leery of aluminum laptop stands. This means that an aluminum stand can scratch the laptop, which it has done in my experience. I use the Nulaxy laptop stand with my 10" Kindle Fire, and it perfectly positions the tablet (in its case) for reading a book on the Kindle while sitting at the dining room table. For Zoom meetings, I pair it with a Dell laptop. It raises the laptop camera so that I can look out rather than down at the gallery of faces. br>br>It was very easy to put together (no tools were required) and it looks great. It's not adjustable, but it's perfect for my average height (5'10"); I didn't realize I needed a laptop stand, but it solves problems I didn't even realize I had. With a wireless mouse and keyboard, I use my laptop as a second monitor. This stand is slightly higher than others, and it puts my laptop screen at the perfect height for video conferencing, which I'm doing more and more of these days. After buying a mechanical keyboard for my laptop, I decided to get this stand. This stand is a lot more durable than I anticipated! It feels substantial, as if it were entirely made of metal, and it was simple to put together (just slide the three pieces together). My laptop is secure and won't easily budge because the area where it sits has soft rubber pads. Overall, I'm happy with the product I got for the price of this stand!.
The pieces of the base that connect the bottom to the arms that hold the laptop come apart easily and it's game over once they do. I have a $4,000 Dell Precision 5540 on it that I can't afford to lose or damage. So, since I never received a response from the company regarding a replacement, I'll have to look for another option.
