Will I have to buy DYMO labels to print them, or can I get them cheaper on Amazon?

OR ELSE, BUY DYMO LABELS! br>I attempted to purchase a ten dollar bill. For a while, the cheap "compatible" labels worked, until they didn't. Not one, but TWO Dymo labelers were destroyed - a TWIN TURBO and a DUO The cost of replacement is more than $400. It is NOT worth scrimping on labels!

DYMO SHOULD BE AVOIDED BY THE PURCHASER
3/5

I would have given it 5 stars if I had reviewed it when I first got it and began using it. What happened to the situation? Dymo, you tell me if you're sure. For about 6 months, I had a perfect little thermal printer that had no issues with "compatible" labels (a. non- dymo labels) to printing four and a half labels for each label printed. I'm a computer nerd, so I went through the motions. Nothing seemed to work. Read blogs and forums full of people having the same problem with NO HELP AT ALL from Dymo "techs" on how to solve the problem other than "use Dymo labels and it won't happen. " hhmmm. Instead of buying someone else's thermal printer, I would have happily purchased your labels if they were reasonably priced. A brand that has been around longer than Dymo, doesn't require me to buy a specific brand of labels, and can print on any size thermal label. Dymo might want to pay attention to what their customers have to say before they all leave.

We only ship via USPS Priority Flat Rate, and I bought the DYMO LabelWriter 4XL because I read it could print directly from the USPS website
4/5

I couldn't get the correct orientation for printing by configuring the printer settings or the USPS website settings. It's a real pain in the neck! br>br>When I contacted DYMO Tech Support, they informed me that their product is not supported when used with USPS. They only provide support if you use their DYMOstamps website or another monthly-fee-based website. br>br>I was on the verge of returning it when I realized there was a solution. After spending far more time than I care to admit looking for an answer, I pasted together the fix below, which isn't perfect but does the job for me because I don't ship every day. I'm printing on my computer. br>br>How to Print to DYMO LabelWriter 4XL from the USPS Website: 1. br>br> Choose PDF rather than Print Label from the USPS website.
2. (I open the PDF to save time, but you can save it if you want to print it later. ) Adobe Reader is most likely to open your file.
3. Select a View - > View in Rotation - > Clockwise (or counterclockwise, or 90 degrees - whatever you want to call it). br>4. Make sure the image is in Portrait mode. Select Edit from the menu. > br>5. Take a Picturebr> 4x6ish area of the label should be selected/highlighted.
6. Select Print from the context menu of the highlighted area.
7. Print using the DYMO LabelWriter 4XL printer from your printer options. And there you have it: a perfect print every time!br>br>Also, under your Printer - > Characteristics - > If you're an advanced user, make sure the Paper Size is set to 4in x 6in (1744907). br>br>It only takes a half-dozen clicks to complete the task, but it beats the old paper, print, scissor, and tape method I had been using for so long. br>br>I hope this helps someone save time and effort. Please let me know if you come up with a better solution! br>br>The 4XL printer was simple to set up and connect, and it prints quickly and quietly.

The printer is amazing! When it was in working order
3/5

I bought my printer on November 7, 2016, and I've been using it regularly for the past few months. My label writer has decided to take a break from work today (March 23, 2017). For no reason at all! I had just printed a few labels on it, but now it won't connect to my Mac when I try to print another. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, disconnected and reconnected all of my devices, and restarted my computer - Despite everything, nothing worked. After attempting to eject the label roll from the printer, I discovered that my Dymo LabelWriter 4XL is incapable of doing so! The lights appear to be the only thing that "works" on it. br>br>I attempted to contact Dymo via email, but their website returned an error. I attempted to contact them by phone, but they were unavailable. This printer was very expensive for me. I'm in a terrible mood right now. (br>br>It was a dream when it DID work! It was quick to print and simplified my life - I believed I had everything figured out. I don't have to buy ink cartridges anymore, and I don't have to tape paper labels to my packages - I was able to easily apply Dymo labels! But what good is it if it breaks down a few months later (as it has for a number of other users)? br>br>Dymo, please correct this.
