In a nutshell, To begin, let me say that to use this item you will need internet access of some kind to be able to access the languages you need at first. Therefore, setup this item in an area that has internet access. Some languages can be downloaded for offline use if desired, but frankly I never use them. I only use English, Japanese, and Chinese which are already on the system. Similarly, it also says in the manual that it might need updates to load other languages, but I have the most recent update installed. From the point of view of the interface, I would say this is a modified and stripped down version of android, since most of the icons look like and work like those in No signal is received from the device when 5 is pressed. WiFi signals with a frequency of 0 GHz. During my search, I was unable to locate how much storage is actually available on this, so I am unsure how many languages can be stored. notice is that there is a default translation in Chinese (not sure if it is cantonese or Mandarin). While I was walking through the translation, I found it a bit difficult to figure out how to change it to english but when you open the translation, swipe from left to right and the options will appear. After that, all you have to do is change it to your desired English. My recommendation would be to change it to Canada or Australia. All you have to do is line up the line on the tip with the sentence and press down for the light to turn on. Then, you can easily scan the text over. The product has a bright LED light as well, so you can use it A minor complaint I have is that the tip at the bottom of the device is a little sensitive, so sometimes I touch it slightly by accident and it opens the translation app right away while I am doing something else. There is some oddity about US english, which does not say what you scan aloud. Why this happened I am not entirely sure. The translated text at least narrates it out loud even when I scan it and translate it into another language. My experience with Vietnamese is pretty good, so I will recommend it. Basically it reads the english sentence outloud in Vietnamese so if you don't understand, you can at least hear it if you have difficulty Although the translations were performed to my knowledge, I notice that some things were not translated perfectly. When translating into Japanese, the book says this, but the translator says that. A couple of the characters were not translated perfectly, but the scanning was perfect. In my opinion, it is pretty close, and translations from other languages might be a little different, but the meaning is still the same. Also, I had tried translating my written french into a scan, and the scanner was able to do so accurately. In my opinion, this is a good pick up for your writing, short of doctor prescriptions. has a speak into function as well, so you can use it that way if it suits your needs, but I prefer to use it as a pen translation tool. As for the translator speak function, I tried it and found it to be less effective than simply voice translations, but nevertheless useful. Near the power button on the side of the device (red and blue are on either side of the device) are the buttons for translating back and forth. In case you are visually impaired, you only have to press the speak button to hear the translated words, which is neat. The screen is a touchscreen, so it is very responsive, and it has a very user-friendly As of right now, there is a screen protector installed, but I decided to remove it since it does not fit well on the screen and is already popped up on the sides (dirt gets on it pretty easily). No matter what you do, the screen is relatively scratch-resistant short of using a knife. If I were to choose, I would scan at the same pace that an average person would read. When not in use, the device can easily be stored in a small space when not in use. Although the battery lift is decent, it is not up to scratch. Charged with a type c, it does use a USB cable. You can use it for several hours, depending on how you use it. I think this device would be a great tool to have when you need to translate a couple sentences. In the event that you need voice translation, this tool provides it. A user can also easily operate the system once it has been set up. There was only one complaint I had and that was getting the translated English to be the default language and that after translating the US English was not speaking. Despite the fact that the device does not heat up in use, the activator is a bit sensitive and automatically initiates the app even before another one is Compared to other translators, this one is quite accurate, but it has the unfortunate tendency to get scratched up on the back quite easily. It is only Chinese that my father knows. He speaks no English at all. My brother and I always have to bail him out of trouble since he's always so dependent on us. Then, I learned Spanish in high school and I fell in love with it! As soon as I found out the language was so beautiful, I decided to save for my class trip to Quebec. I used free apps to translate. The first one I used was something from Google, all the others didn't work. Rather than drain my phone's battery all the time before I left on my trip, I bought a physical one at Walmart since I didn't want to use my phone the entire trip. But it was completely As I tried to type, it kept glitching or touching something else even though my fingers weren't very big and the whole thing felt so cheap and light. Rather than rely on my phone for the trip, I spent more and got a better one since I didn't want to end up just taking my phone as I'm still learning it. I ordered this one and your girl was even more excited to go on this trip after 3 days. I can't believe how well it works. Omg. The instructions are straight forward, my fingers do what it wants to do, and there was probably only one word that didn't translate well but my teacher said it's because there are different dialects used in different regions. My teacher was intrigued by this and tried it out as well, but besides that, the trip was so fun and smooth. Taking a risk on buying it had all been worth it because the trip was one of the most fun I've had in a long time. I intend to use it to gain more knowledge about languages. I love how convenient it is. You can carry it with you anywhere since it is so light weight and portable. I really like the simplicity of the setup and the ease of It is straightforward. We only need to scan and translate, saving a large amount of time on typing. We also don't have to use our smart phones to translate. I was amazed at how fast the translation was, only taking few seconds following It is hard for me to use voice translation because my pronunciation is not good. If you have standard pronunciation, it should not be a problem for you. You should keep in mind that translating sentences requires a Wi-Fi connection The offline mode cannot do anything unless you have access to WiFi. The translation tool will not give you all the possible meanings for a word, only the most common. But when it is translating a sentence, it will pick out the correct meaning for each individual word.
